does this song remind you of an old, jealous boyfriend? because that's what i immediately thought of. he'd blow up my phone all the time when i went to the club with my girls always worrying that i'd get too drunk and dance with other guys and whatever other jealous thoughts he had in his head. my phone always going off was a total buzzkill when i just wanted to hang out and have fun. same in the song where she's like "should have made some plans with me you knew that i was free", same with this guy. doesn't bother calling me at all or care what i'm up to until he finds out i decide to go out to a club or bar and all of a sudden once i'm there he wants to hang out. i want to throw this song in his face, hahah. |

this song is one of my absolute favorites. john's voice is so raw and brilliant.
i think "don't let me down" is one of the realest things you can say to a person. you put in so much trust and faith in this person and you're in that state where they can either make you or break you. it's like a plea of "i'm making myself vulnerable to you, please don't hurt me" |

i agree that it's about the risk you take when you fall in love. and it's about a guy who well in love with a girl and the relationship ended but he still cares so much about her.
"'Cause if I have to die tonight
I'd rather be with you
Cut the parachute before the dive
Baby don't you cry
You have to bring me down
We had some fun before we hit the ground"
describes how he feels about her. even thought it's over he'd still be there for her. even though it ended he can still say "well, at least we had some fun before it's done" |

maybe i'm just interpreting this wrong because of the way im feeling right now
i think this song is about a person who's pessimistic about love. their significant other cares alot about them but they're afraid to let them because they're scared of getting hurt("Wait for me/I’m so afraid/But you always seem so secure/And oh so sure"). they've probably been hurt alot of times before ("But everything I keep close to me runs away/It’s such a shame").
that's just my perspective. and itf thats not what it means, then oh well. it means how i feel right now, hah. |

man. i love this song. it's so catchy and cute. my boyfriend at the time would always sing me the part that goes "stick your hands inside of my pockets, keep them warm while i'm still here" everytime he had to go. (we had that whole long distance relationship going on). this song is definately about always having to be separate from that special person but that love is what holds you guys together no matter how far you're away and how long you're gone |

this is a really beautiful song. it's one of those songs where you just go "damn. that makes me feel all good inside" after you sit and REALLY listen to it for the first time. |

i agree, tim uses his words so well. so much emotion in this song. i like how he uses instances you can relate to whether it be when a significant other used to call you on their breaks or bring you tomato soup. |

this song is great. i love the feel and imagery they use. he tells the story of an insecure girl he loved. they're both so low that in a sense she needs him and he needs her. |
