I definitely see God in this song. The Walk itself is God's path for you, God has a path for everyone to follow, and you can either follow it and win and reach God's potential for you or you can choose not to. I don't think the man on the tightrope is God tho, I think it's someone who is following God's path and how it is to watch someone live their life that way, how it makes you think if you could do it yourself because it's definitely not an easy path.
I love this song, not because of the religious sentiments, but the tone and the sound, and also the other interpretations you can get from it. That interpretation I just gave it just one, I see the "taking risks" one as well |

personally, (and I don't know what others have said already) but I think the "love is watching someone die" line means, not just being willing to watch your loved one die in the hospital, but that when you really love someone, you are with them until the end, so therefore, for the rest of your lives together you're, in effect, watching them die for many many years |

like many of Jason Mraz's work, you can take it many ways, literally, figuratively, etc. To take this song literally (as I feel many people have gone into the figurative meanings) makes this song very chilling. Literally, it's about a person on a plane after leaving their loved one and their feelings about the plane crashing. Think about it, if you were on a plane without your loved one, and it was going down, or you were afraid it would, what would you think? "Damn" seems like a good word to come to mind. |

I also agree that this song is about an unwanted pregnancy, but I don't think it's going as far as abortion. I think that they're at the hospital to have a pregnancy test done by a doctor to make sure. |
