steveyg2004 is right on the assesment of the song and much to the disappointment of mojo_pin it is well known that all the band members in Athlete are christians. Most of the songs are about love for another person or for God. Whats wrong in that, at least they have hope and faith in something real. In none of there songs do they bring out bitterness or anger. I think its a lesson we should all learn from! |

The song is actually about Carey, the bass player. It was about a girl he knew at university and he was so in love with her but she was engaged to someone else. He basically knew he had to let her know that he loved her and its all the emoitions he felt as he went to tell her... ..the story doesn't end there, she realised she loved him and now they are married!! |
