Bruce Springsteen – My City Of Ruins Lyrics 17 years ago
Living in New Orleans for more than a year now, this song feels so appropriate as the city continues to recover from Katrina. It's amazing how accurate the imagery is; you drive down a street in New Orleans listening to this song and it's like being in the music video.

Love the "Come on rise up!" Resilient bunch these New Orleanians.

Yeah, I caught the Invisible Monsters reference too. The character in the book is kind of a free spirit, regularly getting friends into trouble.

Ray Charles – You Don't Know Me Lyrics 20 years ago
This is one of my favorite songs of all time... it just hits the nail on the head for me and I know exactly what it's like to feel like the guy in the song. I can't understand why this isn't one of Mr. Charles' more famous songs..

Feist – When I Was a Young Girl Lyrics 20 years ago
This is one of the more subtle songs on the "Let it die" album, in that you find yourself pretty much ignoring it when it's playing, but then humming it to yourself later. After listening to the lyrics, it's now one of my favorite songs on the album. It seems to be about a girl's teenage years when she went a bit wild and later regretted it. The last verse has me stumped though. Any ideas?
