What I think the song is about is that someone who is best friends with someone else for ages and know each other really personally when the second person just turns their back on the first guy. The whole first verse is just telling the person that the should pay attention to what is going on around them; They can't just breeze through and hope to have things go thier way. The second verse is saying that the first person (More than likely Shaddix) is trying to tell the second bloke that he is not going to be used when he is useful and disposed of when he isn't needed. Well; My thoughts anyway. |

The song is about the problems with all the Gangster Rappers in America and that who have this whole lack of respect for others which results in people getting killed. They speak about it not happening in Australia yet (We don't have a large mainstream Hip Hop industry) but at this rate then you may have someone barging into your house and pointing a gun at your head in an attempt to be respected. I have to agree with W-T-F on most accounts but I'm going to add my opinion on key lines in it. 'I see the walls are closing in, and I feel I am in danger My enemy is not alone, in the mirror there's a stranger As I try to break out, my panic led to fear Hopeless, I am alone, I'm afraid the end is near' --------------------------------------------------------- This means that it is getting too tough for him now and he is starting to not even recognize himslef when he sees his reflection because he was once someone that could accomplish it but now can't. The 'panic lead to fear' part means that in his panic of not being able to accomplish this thing he is growing afraid. The last line is a key one because this means that he now feels afraid and alone and thinks that the proverbial end of his life has come. NEXT KEY PART 'The truth doesn't always have to hurt' Pure and simple, This is saying that it doesn't hurt to accept the truth which is not nesserceraly painful. |
