Leftfield – Swords Lyrics 20 years ago
"I wear my sword at my side"; reminds me of the quote "Walk softly and carry a big stick". Be at ease with your self and others, but always be aware and prepared, don't accept what's given to you, always ask questions. It's a metaphore for how to live your life every day.

"I have become pure water". Water, a substance that can be changed into anything, but it always retains it's original form. "Pure" water: perfection, never truly changed.

"distorted and echoed". You have completly lost sight of your true self and it's repeated to you every day of your life. That doesn't change who you really are.

Is there is a relation between pure water and swords? I think the composer of this song is saying that in order to become your true self you must always carry a sword at your side.

Amazing song, simple, yet very deep. I like the comment made by Missy blue: "it's like a psyching
mantra". It's certainly something I will keep in mind every day of my life.
