Led Zeppelin – Living Loving Maid (She's Just a Woman) Lyrics 18 years ago
I always thought that the opening line was "with our purple umbrellas and our fifths in hand"

The Sound of Animals Fighting – The Heretic Lyrics 19 years ago
this song is about the search for god. "remember your flesh" is a cry out to God to remember his earthly flesh (jesus christ, his son, or Himself in human form). "they'll salt his wounds" (the wounds he received during his crucifixion) if burning the flesh (salt burns when applied to open wounds, and they would salt wounds when they buried the dead in those days) if that meant jesus' death would help man find God (remember he died for our sins and gave us God's grace). But now, there is all this carnage in the world ("what carnage you've left") and Jesus is long dead ("you are/were dead"). "Our souls unrest" means that now we are waiting for God again, in human flesh (His second coming), because He is becoming less apparent in our world full of carnage and our faith is bleeding ("it's starting to bleed," the opening line). "I've started again/to miss your hand" means that we miss His (God's) hand, His saving grace in our world. We are all "heretics" by saying that God has left us nothing but carnage, and so we are willing to burn our own flesh (sacrifice OURSELVES) if it means that He will come back to us.

The Sound of Animals Fighting – There Can Be No Dispute That Monsters Live Among Us Lyrics 19 years ago
i agree this song is ridiculously annoying and an unnecessary "caboose" track because "the heretic" (the best song on the whole album) would have been the perfect ending. however, the lyrics of this song justify the madness of the whole cd and it's a crazy little way to cap off a crazy cd. i agree that it could be done without, but nonetheless, it's there and should be appreciated because the artists obviously put it there for a reason

well pete was incredibly involved in the process of make this album, and he writes a majority of FOB's lyrics, so I wouldn't be surprised if P!ATD got a line or two from him...it happens with lots of bands (Taking Back Sunday most notably)

this song seems like it's a prelude to "I Write Sins Not Tragedies". "I Write Sins..." is about a wedding, right? So this is like the bachelor party...to me...hence, "I wouldn't be caught dead in this place"

not patrick tj - pete, the guitarist...he signed them to his label decaydance and he is in the studio recording with them...hence why Brendon's voice is on the song "7 Minutes In Heaven" on Fall Out Boy's From Under the Cork Tree

sorry, but one more...the "she" who "never fixes this, but at least she makes me forget" is a referrence to Brandy Alexander, Queen Supreme, who, though she can't fix the main character's face, still treats her with respect and at least helps her forget her troubles

oh, and also, the "cut above all the rest" and "sick and sad patients on first name basis with all the top physicians" is alluding to the center where Brandy Alexander and the main character's "dead" brother got their sex change operations (a "cut" above, hint hint) and they get so many operations they're on "first name basis..."

Honestly I think this song is, like "It's Time To Dance," an allusion to Invisible Monsters as well, because think about it... "the hospice" is the place where the main character's "dead" brother was sent when he first contracted gonorrhea, "I am alone in this bed, house, and head" is alluding to the main character's solitude - her being an invisible monster - and god calling in is a referrence to her waiting for Him to come and save her but he doesn't pull through
