I'm not sure I really see how it fits, but last night he told a long story before they played this; he started writing it like 20 years ago (hence the Angels of the Silences connection) about how he imagined the lives of artists - but he hadn't lived that life yet. while you're focussing on this one important thing, everything else passes you by. he only felt ready to write it when SN&SM came along. still dont get it as it seems to be more about relgion but hey, it's about artists. |

Well to be fair, I'm always gobsmacked to hear "castle in Wales". gotta be the smallest place mentioned in the song (but clearly the greatest). It's like a nice shoutout to places, except Lincoln, NE :/ I think most of the songs on this album are about beng on the road, away from the one he loves Being away from home has made it really difficult, but they always knew it would be and decided to take a chance on it. He never wanted to accept it would be over, because their relationship was perfect. But, it never occurred to him it's difficult for her aswell, and she's found someone else. Of course the rest is just about how nothing compares to being with her. |

Meh, I still think when he says 'it was only a kiss' he's talking about the woman and other man. After all, in that verse he's telling their story n he's upset about it, I reckon he's just trying to deny that it's happening. !! the rest of what everyone's said bout jealousy & depression etc I agree with ^-^ |

im sure it's letters to cleo, if 'i want you to want me' isn't used in the film it sounds exactly like J&TPC, so im guessin it is. i love the whole soundtrack - even the dujour songs ^-^ they're kinda funny (well, 1ce or 2ce). to mention the meaning...it's kinda obvious eh? he just doesn't see her 'that way' but she clearly loves him :) |

i don't know if someones said this before but i havent seen it - when he says "it was only a kiss" i think he's in denial about the woman and man - as if to suggest that theres nothing to worry about because it was 'only a kiss' |
