| Camera Obscura – Forest and Sands Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| It feels like she's hurting herself by singing the last part again and again. It's beautiful. | |
| Absynthe Minded – My Heroics, Part One Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Yes, this song is going to be a real classic where I live, given some time. | |
| The Platters – Smoke Gets In Your Eyes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It's not about that when you're in love, smoke gets in your eyes, it's about the fact that you can only tell that you're truly in love, when 'smoke gets in your eyes'. The person who sings the song knows that he really was truly in love, afterwards. The second part, I believe, is indeed about crying when your love's flown away. |

| I love the "You were nervous, you were furious."-part. | |
| The Black Heart Procession – It's A Crime I Never Told You About The Diamonds In Your Eyes Lyrics | 19 years ago |

@andro666: Good one. Or maybe, it's about someone who doesn't have the nerve to tell he's in love with this girl (or guy). He fantasises about how it would be if he would have the nerve to say it (And maybe someday we'll...). Then they will be in love, and he'll say "Please Please Don't tear your heart from me", because he loves her so much. Now (he's in love but he can't say it) he's in the underdog position, but Maybe Someday, the you-person will say "Don't tear your heart from me" to him. He fantasises about that too. |

| We Are Scientists – The Great Escape Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The song is great, but doesn't anyone think We are scientists are just another Bloc party/the Rapture/... rip-off? | |

Oh, it's me again... I'm having trouble with this: But brother says mama they're the same damn size Got to let him grow up and get street wise. What does the brother has to do with all this? Who are the same damn size? Maybe the mother is afraid her son is bullied in the baseball club, and therefore she's afraid he could die...? |

Oh, in the fantasy in which the boy dies, nobody cares, and his mother's bittered because nobody liked her dead son, and she's the only one who grieves for him. (Mama says bitch come over here, yada yada yada) And it's a great song. I also like the sounds (especially of that music box) in the beginning and in the end. I also like the way the Casady sisters sing, just like they're gonna burst out in tears after they sing the last words... Bewitchingly beautiful |

Is it about a boy who can't play baseball, and he is made fun off? (But mama says baby go get that bat/And come back down and beat some ass + But you gotta get up at least once more) Where 'big brother' would be the baseball coatch. Is it about the death of a boy? (Mama comes screaming down the stairs + Mama won't be making no birthday cake,...) Is it about a boy who plays baseball, and he made a fool of himself once, by which his team lost an important game. And then, the coatch said, if you make such a mistake again, I'm gonna kill you. And in the song, they tell how It could be when that happens. Or am I just talking crazy? |

| Joanna Newsom – Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Can anyone explain me the sentence 'Your skin is something that I stir into my tea'? I think is an extremely romantic sentence, but a lot of people I know don't get it (they take it litteraly). So, can anyone explain? The minute I saw that line, i had to think about milk. (a milk white skin, you can stir milk into your tea, although here in Belgium, we stir it into our coffee) Please help. |

| Antony and the Johnsons – What Can I Do? Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Maybe it's because Rufus wainwright just sings the song. Antony composed it (I suppose) Great song, and I just love it when Antony sings those backings. |
