I have to disagree about this being white society ignoring street crime. I do think it's about the government's indifference to street crime, though. Granted, government officials are predominantly white but I don't think Ice T or anybody from Body Count were targeting white people specifically...it's more of a song towards *anybody* in government who ignores street crime, no matter who they are.

Puff Daddy – I'll Be Missing You Lyrics

Stoolhardy - the song was NOT stolen, he got permission to cover it. Sting even provided the chorus at an awards cermony while P.Diddy rapped his verses. I think his rap means so much. Yes it's simple but it gives emotion so perfectly and even if P. Diddy did a lot of things that were material-oriented, I think the rap he made for this song was genuine and from the heart. The fact that it gives off just the right feeling is A LOT more than "so what" because music is an art, which gives outlet to EMOTION. There are tons of covers out there, all of which "steal" from the original artist. Bashing P. Diddy for it as if he's the worst offender is just effing stupid. I liked this song when it came out and after my friend died in May, this song has gotten a lot closer and more personal to me, as it's done for other commentors on here.

It's one thing to brag about being hated for standing up for your beliefs like Ice T's Cop Killer song or Sinead O' Conner's anti-pope statement but when people make fun of you for being a freeloading, dirty, deadbeat baby machine who hasn't done shit for anybody but yourself and you still brag about being hated, that's just stupid. I think K-Fed missed something along the way.

This song *is* about a boy being molested by a father who used to be molested as a child. I own the remastered Youthanasia cd and in the booklet, the page opposite the Family Tree lyrics shows a small boy in pajamas looking around the corner into another room of an empty, broken home. In the other room is a translucent, shadowy picture of an older, nude man.

K, guys, I know Morningstar means Lucifer but I doubt that's what's being referred to here. Morningstar also means "Venus, the Goddess of Beauty" in Roman mythology and she granted people good looks. The girl is ugly so she prays to the Goddess of Beauty to shine on her and give her good looks, or at least make society think that she is good-looking. The man who loves her, at first, pleads to the goddess also, until he realizes that she is beautiful inside. He then proceeds to call Venus the ugly one because in mythology, she was very centered around outer beauty and it is because of her, that the one he loves is an outcast and feels so horrible about herself.
