I think this is probably the best song that i have ever heard. The way i see it is that it shows the various situations in our lives, when we are "riding our chrome horse" as in being powerful, popular, etc. everyone will experience this in our lives. and at different times when "You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal" when we know no one, and feel lonely etc. How we react and show our personalities in these situations show us who we trully are, whether we are abnoxious, etc. when you are powerful, or do you continue to be yourself and show the great aspects of your personality rather than the faults. Or will you give in and quit when times are tough for you. Great song though! |

I think it shows somone finding their true self. At the start dylan talks about all the negativity in the world, then it changes at the line "You lose yourself, you reappear", to what he wants to be himself and something that he is not, which society wants him to do, as he gives examples of how people are corrupted. That's just my interpritation of this great song. |
