| The Vines – Kara Jayne Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's about Craig's relationship with KJ from The FolloW. | |
| Muse – Exo-Politics Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love the rhythm to this song. The lyrics seem pretty straightforward...especially with the whole Zeta alien imagery...and the title...exopolitics is the hypothetical situation where human politics would meet with extraterrestrials. | |
| Sara Evans – You'll Always Be My Baby Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Ahh, these are beautiful lyrics. I think the song is pretty self-explanatory. She's talking about the mistakes she's made, but how her father was always there to love and forgive her. And she hopes now, that she can do the same thing for her son. | |
| Meg & Dia – Cardigan Weather Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is about someone realising their boyfriend/girlfriend is cheating on them. I love the lines: "Come here baby I will show you what this girl can do A mattress for a coffin suits you very fine You'll feel me with my others as you're sewn under the seams" What I get from that, is that, she's getting revenge by sewing him into the mattress he/she cheated on her with, so that he/she can feel it when she's with other people. |

| Jeff Buckley – Nightmares By The Sea Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Well, I just listened to this song today...and I was just lying on my bed with the music in my ears, reading along with the CD booklet and my first thoughts about what this song could possibly mean is that it's about some sort of abusive relationship. "beware the bottled thoughts of angry young men. secret compartments hide all of the skeletons."--> These first two lines tell me that the man the woman (girl) married had anger issues she never knew about before she married him. He kept them well hidden. "your rube is young and handsome, so new to your bedroom floor,"--> The second line especially...just says to me she's been beaten by this man she never thought would do that to her, so she's shocked and "new" to the situation. i've loved so many times and I've drowned them all. from their coral graves, they rise up when darkness falls. with their bones they'll scratch the window, I hear them call, "don't know what you asked for" "don't know what you asked for" "--> This part of the song however...I think is not necessarily attached to the storyline, but rather Jeff going over his own past failed relationships. Because he wasn't satisfied with them? I'm not sure, but that's the vibe I get from the line "don't know what you asked for." Anyways...that's just my interpretation. |

| From First to Last – Heroine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| As someone pointed out earlier...heroine is not a drug, heroin is a drug. | |
| From First to Last – Waltz Moore Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"I stretch myself across the world Pushing my limits for your entertainment And you had the nerve To call out my weaknesses And drag me through the dirt" I think that this part of the song is talking about how FFTL travel all over the world and play shows, do media appearances, sign autographs, etc... for our pleasure and entertainment, and basically...Sonny's saying here "I put my heart into this job. It means so much to me. Just because you don't like me or my music, doesn't mean you can just degrade me like that. I'm a human too." |

| Goodnight Nurse – Our Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Yup, definitely about Joel's Grandfather, from what I could hear from over the screaming (lol) his Grandfather's name was Archie. |

| Rihanna – Pon De Replay Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Mexican!? Bohemian?! What the hell? Does no one know that Rihanna is from BARBADOS?! I would assume that it is Bajan slang for "Play that song again" or something to that extent... |

| The Dresden Dolls – Delilah Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| That line^^^ really gets me, because it's perfectly delivered. You hear it in Amanda's voice, the exact frustration she's feeling. | |
| The Dresden Dolls – Delilah Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This is my opinion of this song: Delilah, is the name of a friend (or pseudonym) of Amanda's. She is not a prostitute. Rather the line "And after seven years in advertising you are none the wiser" might mean that she's been on the dating scene for 7 years, and after meeting all these people and 'advertising' herself, she still doesn't understand that this guy is only using her for sex. "You're an unrescuable schizo Or else you're on the rag" Could 'rag' possibly be referring to a woman's periods? I know here in Australia "rags" is and slang term for being at that time of the month. Which, if that's what she's trying to say, would mean, she's just schizophrenic or always hormonal from menstruating? "Oh God, Delilah, why?" |

| John Mayer – Home Life Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Okay, so I googled this, apparently 'sleight' is pronounced exactly the same as 'slight'. Does that mean an error was made in the spelling or that John really wants to say 'slight'? | |
| John Mayer – Home Life Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| If it's 'sleight' how come the lyrics in the cover of the album say 'slight'? | |
| Rooney – You're On The Edge Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| hehe, everytime I listen to this song, I can't help but think of what my cousin said to me about it: "It's such a middle child song! I can imagine you writing it!" | |
| Rooney – Kristen Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yes bmoriarty, it was originally called Kristin, but they decided to change the name too late, so on the first copies of the self-titled album, "That Girl Has Love" is titled Kristin. | |
| John Mayer – Home Life Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Yes dashgoo12, the lyrics are "I used to be in my M to Z, but you'll never find me 'cause my name isn't there." These lyrics are, in my opinion, referring to the phonebooks. They come in two separate books - A-L and M-Z and now that John Mayer is famous, he can't be listed in the M-Z just in case some weird stalker fans. I can tell you this MUCH, I will marry just once And if it doesn't work out, I'll give her half of my stuff It's fine with me We said eternity I will go to my grave, with the LOVE that I gave Not just a melody line on a radio wave It dissipates And soon evaporates Homelife doesn't change That part is probably my favourite in the entire song. It's so sweet. I love it because it's taking a different stance on marriages these days. I mean, people are alwasy talking about how they might get divorce,d or divorce rates are high, but John Mayer's saying in this part "I'm not going to worry about divorce. I'll marry and if it doesn't work out, then that's what's meant to be, I've had my chance." It makes, I think a much more optimistic picture of getting married. Well, in my screwed up head it does, at least...lol |
