| great song by quality artists. this speaks very honestly to me on a deep level. the desolation, loneliness and helplessness of his situation is so compelling. i think its about being a contradiction and about a relationship he's going through with that he finds necessary, but there's a hidden despair in it. i could be completely wrong, please tell me what you think. | |

i reckon that the song is significantly is past tense. he isn't wishing that his current relationship would change and he could be everything to her, but instead i think eddie is mourning the end of that relationship. he is wishing that he WAS all of those things, but realises that he wasnt, and so it ended. or thats what i reckon anyway. |
