This song is incredible. I will always relate it to the Buffy and Angel scene at the prom (*sniffles* I love that scene). This song to me means so much. Definantly a relationship song. In this song, I think they've done wrong to each other ,but No matter what happens, no matter the horrible things they say to each other, they will never stop loving each other. Wild horses can't drag them away from each other. "I have my freedom but I dont have much time" - I think this means that the singer can say anything he wants to the one he's singing it too, even tho he doesn't and time is running out. But he isn't going to give up.(I can't let you slide thru my hands). "Faith has been broken and tears must be cried. Let's do some living after we die." I think they've cheated on each or something along the lines of it. But in my head, I think one of them is dieing from a disease or something with all these mentions of how he's running out of time. He's losing her so he wants their love to live on after they die and for them to still be close. The Rolling Stones vers. is really great too and theres another one by a few more artists but this one by The Sundays is definantly my faveorite. Its the prettier one of all of them with lotsa emotion. But the guy from the Rolling stones who wrote this supposedly wrote it for his dieing ex-wife. He wrote this in an attempt to get her to come back to him. I don't know if she ever did and I really don't want to find out. I just rather hope she did come back and they forgave each other and she lived. But I don't know.~ I just love this song ^_^ |

| . . .SR's songs get very annoying after a while. Yes they do have there few okay ones ,but they all are very similar! Sappiness... And Michelle's voice...*shudders*... Anyways, they just aren't the best band. John would be much better w/ TBS. | |

This song is incredible. It means alot to me for certain reasons but I've seen alot of people trying to analyze this song and they all have good points. I see this song as one who loves someone else but they don't love them back in the same way ,but I still have trouble thinking that's what its really all about. Since by this line from the song: "And I dare you to forget the marks you left across my neck from those nights when we were both found at our best" ~ they obviously already have had a *serious relationship. The way I look at it is that she is still in love with him and he just wants her to forget him and go on with her life. It almost sounds like she's an alcholic. And he just wants her to get better and move on. Lyrics like these: And I don't think that you know what you've been missing Cause I don't think that you know what you've been missing I think she's been drinking and hasn't gone out into the world for a while. Just being a recluse and drowning in her sorrows. Also this one: Hey lush, have fun, it's the weekend A lush is an alchoholic. He's wanting her to have fun this weekend and choose not to drink. "Now I could make this obvious and you you could deny me all in one breath you could shrug me off your shoulders" I dont know if Im right on this one but its at the beginning of the song and it sounds like he's thinking about asking her if she's been drinking. He could be obvious and get right to the question and she could just completely deny it(all in one breath). "Just forget me, it's that simple " He's just telling her to forget him, get over him, and move on. I think those feelings are still there for each other and he just wants the best for her together or not. Anyways, thats just my opinion and how I think of this song ^^; It can be looked at in different perspectives but that's how it sounded to me. TBS have some of the best and most meaningful songs. They rock~ |
