To quote the band.. "The song, Smile In Your Sleep is a dark song about jealousy, deception and ultimately murder." To me, the narrator of this song becomes so heartbroken by his lover that he eventually kills him / her, thus the metaphor of 'smiling in their sleep'. |

I think this is definately about a relationship with another person, hence the title, althought I do think the narrator is viewing it from a Christian perspective ("you know I'll always love you but right now I just don't like you.."). Which to bury? Us.. (the relationship between Matt and whoever.) ..or the hatchet? (the grudge that they hold between one another.) |

I know this song is supposed to be a "part two" of sorts to Failure To Excommunicate.. But I don't see much relation between this song and the other. |
