I am a philosophy student and I have always thought that this song was about (or at least made reference to) the problem of evil. "The madness that i encounter everywhere I turn" and the "fucking atom bomb" don't seem to be consistent with the Christian idea of an infinitely good and benevolent God. Christians are aware of this and have to "remain unperturbed" by it as part of their faith. |
