Jewel – Hands Lyrics 20 years ago
Thanks Ms. Darkk, I agree. The first time I heard this song was on 9/11/2001. I remember where I was, driving home from work in total disbelief. And I remember how unifying this song was. As individuals, our hands may be small. But, as a whole, we can all become something that serves the greater good. And yes, we are in God's Hands.

To me this song is about a relationship, not necessarily a fling. I think its about reflecting on a past relationship, that you put so much into, but you weren't right for that person for some reason or another. And even though that person may have loved you, they have moved on...and you are still wondering why. Even though they told you they loved you, they are still going to love eventuallly someone else again. As a new season approaches, so does another person.

Coldplay – Yellow Lyrics 20 years ago
wow, based on everyone's interpretations, I am so wrong about this song. But since you are asking...here what it means to me. To love someone "purely" is powerfull. White is pure. But if your love is not "good enough" for someone, maybe its "yellow". Offwhite, if you will. Maybe this is a song about giving your all, and not being good enough to a particular someone.

I lost a friend to cancer who I think about everytime this song is played. She had a weight problem, and when she found out she had cancer, she basically let herself die. As a not-so-loyal friend, I joined in on all the, "Oh my she's fat...." even though I considered her a best friend. The lyric, "Didn't mean to treat you bad" comes into play here. When she died, I finally realized why. And as selfish as I felt, I couldn't believe I let it happen. "But you left me far behind". What a selfish lyric, but we all feel that way at some time. "Damn you for not thinking about me." Even though the cost is far greater to [you], then it ever was [me].

This song rocks, not only because of Candlebox and the 90's, but b/c of all the emotion CB puts into the song.

To me, this song is reaching that realization when you are with the person you love, and you figuire out that although you think you are the one for the person, in your heart, you know this person well enough that you aren't that special someone to them. And, as much as that realization sucks, you have to move on...otherwise you are wasting precious time...for you and that someone.
