| The Receiving End Of Sirens – Stay Small Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i think that the final lyrics are much better. the thing that makes the receiving end of sirens so captivating is their appropriate use of metaphors and language so that their lyrics do not become too cluttered or, on the flipside, too simple. the original line where the use "egg and sperm" feels so vile and uncharacteristic of the band. the new version keeps the meaning but gets rid of that disonance. in none of their songs is there that lack of the understanding of how to manipulate language into something beautiful, even when the straight up meaning is something that isn't as pretty. |

| Foals – Mathletics Lyrics | 18 years ago |

these lyrics are completely wrong. these are the ones posted by the band: calling all kids! this is a snare there is some trap to call yrself a hero now a hero then you can wind yrself like some wave a cos / sin wave the wavelength there like some ocean takes you... turn the academy down. turn it down. count me out. the verse after that plays on the first verse. |

| Matt & Kim – Silver Tiles Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
at first, i thought of silver tiles as braces, but after not making rash judgements, i realised they could be mirrors. the silver tiles seem to be reflecting all the hopes, friends, times spent in parking lots, etcetera as would a mirror if we could see our memories. either way, it's a darling song. |

| My Epiphany – Girl Model A Lyrics | 18 years ago |

there is a third verse missing. she says, "come sit next to me for a little while. i think you'll like it. yeah, i think you'll like it." |

| The Academy Is... – Unexpected Places Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| yes, it is on santi. and i honestly do not know about this album, but the first half of the song really is relatable. it reminded me of the end of the college application process and going to college, but i only think that's because of the position i'm in at the moment. i highly doubt that is what the song is really about. i think it's about decisions in general and having to stnd by them, even when we made an unfavourable choice. i think the ending relates back to once we've made the decision and whether or not we can fix it by taking a chance and making other choices or if we just have to tought it out and wait it out. | |
| The Academy Is... – Neighbors Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| *song, oops. i know he produced it, but beckett's voice even sounded like him at certain parts. i could just be going crazy. | |
| The Academy Is... – Neighbors Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| is it just me or did certain parts of this song really sound like Butch Walker's osng 'Suburbia'? | |
| Gym Class Heroes – 7 Weeks Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| stop hating on it and them. i know change is hard, but deal with it. some of the new songs are good; and everyone needs some catchy musique in their life. beckett adds to the song, and the poppy attitude of it captures what the song is saying. maybe travis doesn't want to be depressed all the time. thought about that? | |
| Gym Class Heroes – A Beautiful Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i honestly think this is one of their best songs. it's not complete genius like taxi driver in the sense where they got all those bands to fit together, but this is a totally different type of amazing. sometimes i wish they werent on fbr because that label just seems to suck now. | |
| The Academy Is... – Pour Yourself a Drink Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I'm excited to hear it live at Warped now that hirotheavitar said they play it. This song had me completely hooked when I first heard it. I just couldn't keep it off repeat. I wonder what the full song sounds like, though. | |
| Mathieu Chédid – Matchistador Lyrics | 20 years ago |

*Je croix qu'elles m'adorent. Until the last (REFRAIN) where is it: !Je sais qu'elle m'adorent. This song is such a jam-like song, I love it. It makes me want to dance and laugh all at the same time. |

| The Receiving End Of Sirens – Planning A Prison Break Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I can see why you would think it's about alcohol, but I would rather go with what Brendan said. On top of that, it makes a lot more sense when you look at it through the album, like in the song "The Rival Cycle". | |

| Lola Ray – This House [feat. Jung Kim] Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Haha. I like how his voice sounds at the end of the song; I thought she brought it out in some weird way. And yesss for typos! Sorry about that. Estelle or Michelle? It definitely ends in "-elle"... | |
| Lola Ray – Officer And A Gentleman Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| i submitted them a long time ago also, but they never showed up. what happened was i had put in an "&" symbol and it didn't go through. they were first up after thir show in november, november fifth. yeah. so then i just resubmitted all of them, and it processed. i also typed up the rest. at least people have them now, i guess. | |

The "$#*&$#" is a name. John[lead singer] had told me to listen harder for the name, but I gave up after a while. I really like the female vocals on this song. |

| The Academy Is... – The Author Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this is my favorite song by them; it just sums up life for me. i took my username from it. the first song i had heard by the academy is..., it made me fall in love. | |
| Army of Me – Still Believe In You Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
it's pretty self explanatory. i think it is about him hurting someone, and trying to apologize. he believes that he did all he could, and believes that whoever he hurt will find room to forgive them. it seems that the person gave up, as in the line "oh darling, you gave up", but he doesn't want it to be true and still believes forgiveness is possible. i saw them live last night, they are absolutely amazing. they're all great to talk to, and everyone should get out and do to their shows. |

| The Receiving End Of Sirens – Planning A Prison Break Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
So I was confused about this song until I read this: "If anything I would say I live by the standards I set for myself and strive to obtain them daily. This is where the lyric "This is the last night in my body." comes from. It was and is about being unsatisfied with how I am living and vowing to my self to never just settle or accept the way I am living." That was in an interview and Brendan's answer to what was his life motto. So I guess this song is about getting out of old habits, and changing into who you want to be, I can't put it in any better words than what Brendan said himself. |
