Red Hot Chili Peppers – Charlie Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Even if "charlie" is a slang word for cocaine, I don't think this song is about drugs...or rather I hope it isn't. It would change the tone of the music for me, if you know what I mean. Anway...I was thinking, and Alanis Morissette's song, "Mary Jane" has nothing to do with marijuana, but yet the name would elude to that...so just because the songs called Charlie doesn't really imply anything. But at this point I wouldn't be suprised if the song is about or not about cocaine. Either way it'sd an AMAZING song that's awesome to groove to :) |

Haha, that sort of makes sense -- interesting interpretation :) |
Mary J. Blige – I'm Goin' Down Lyrics | 18 years ago |
...actually Mary J. Blige covered this song. This song was written and originally performed by a kickass band called Rose Royce, I personally like the original better, and think it's way worth listening to. |
Damien Rice – Silent Night Lyrics | 18 years ago |
what album was this on? |
Rilo Kiley – 85 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Wow...such a moving song. I understand the whole gist of the song, but this verse always confuses me: We talk the way you do, and I have a sweet or two. For my only plus you say they're gettin' bigger everyday. ...any thoughts? |
Tori Amos – Cornflake Girl Lyrics | 19 years ago |
To me (this is just my opinion), it's about a two girls, who were best friends. But one has gone to the other side (Cornflake girls), and one is left behind. And their friendship is ruined. And so many brutal and sick things are happening, and you think to yourself, "This is not really happening"-- but it is. And your parents, and the principal, and the teacher are just a metaphor for one person (and the man with the golden gun), and this "man with the golden gun" thinks that it is just a silly little fight, and no one is really getting hurt. |
Björk – I've Seen It All Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song...I don't know how to explain it. This was the first song I heard by Bjork, and well...now I can't get enough of her. "You've never been to Niagara Falls ? I have seen water, its water, that's all..." I love that line. This song to me (although, no doubt is depressing)...I also find it inspiring. Like, she is looking at it in the most positive way she can. |
Hawksley Workman – Even An Ugly Man Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Wow.....I can't believe that so few users have posted here. I've been "viewing" this site for a long time now, and have finally registered, just to post this: Hawksley Workman is so gifted. Not only is his voice beautiful and easing to listen to...I'm shocked he plays all the instruments on his Cd's. That truly defines a "solo" artist. I love all his songs...but this song really gets me. I think it is obvious what this song is about, and although, I'm a woman-- I can totally relate. In today's world, especially in the U.S. (and Canada for that matter), there is WAY too much emphasis on looks. It is so mind boggling. Like, doesn't anyone understand people don't get to choose what they look like? Anyway, this song is beautiful, and I love how he holds the "his" at the end. |
