| Simple Plan – What If Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Well, as the uploader, I guess I should take first shot. It seems to be about someone who was in a relationship and , the relationship being over, is unable to move on. It seems implied that the singer has to see his former love every day, likely on a college campus. It's actually quite sad, since there does not to be the slightest hint he will ever regain his former love. | |

The Big Casino, to my mind, is life. That also explains the lottery ref. The quote by Jim above is interesting to me, that it is a losers' anthem. Someoone who has made it, and puts up a good front, but in his heart doesn't believe it or think he deserves it. Thus the "Just let me down, let me down easy." He doesn't want the inevitable crash, when it comes, to hurt him. He wants a graceful departure, not to be run out of town. I think the New Jersey reference is meant to be "in spite of being from New Jersey." There is something slightly derogatory about New Jersey. I think it is electronics or computers, that it is negative to say that something is from New Jersey. And of course, New Jersey has a negative image (the Turnpike, the Sopranos). I hastily add I am from New Jersey myself. But in the final analysis, I think this song does for mature adults what "The Middle" did for adolescents and "A Praise Chorus" for young adults. It is an anthem for all, but with particular relevance to this age group, that the members of JEW are soon joining. |

| Silverstein – True Romance Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I asked Shane about this one after the Chicago show, and he said that it was about religious hypocrites, like he knew in college, who sin and sin and do wrong things and then get down on their knees in church and think that makes it all better. | |

Lyrics are a bit wrong. It starts: I don't lie, I love you all, I do. And to all of you dancing, just don't be afraid to fall. It's true. |

| Senses Fail – The Priest And The Matador Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Not sure people realize WHY the time of death is half past six. Look at a clock. One with hands. At half past six, the hands are arrows, pointed down, straight to hell. Especially the long one. The minute hand points straight down, the hour hand almost. | |
| Silverstein – Discovering The Waterfront Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's a breakup song, but I don't think it ends with a breakup. The singer knows he should break up for his own good, but I don't think he can. The way it ends with "and it's not gonna change", repeating the chorus, and the sort of unresolved sound to the music at the end--his resolution to break up isn't gonna do it. | |
| Blink-182 – The Rock Show Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I don't know how seriously we're intended to take this song. I have the impression that this was a girl met casually at Warped, they had this intelligent exchange "What?" "I don't know" and the rest is the kid's fantasy. He swears he made it with her (if she's the one, why does he have to swear it?) Why is this girl gone and left him with photographs (black and white?) and the hopes of another meeting where he can ask her to dance? I think we're hearing a dumb kid's fantasy. | |

Keep in mind that "white light" is what people say they've seen when they've had near death experiences. Don't be too literal and think it means a headlight or flashlight. This song is about dying. No question. Does it refer to drunk driving? SP never mentioned that until the video. I personally don't think it was in their minds when they wrote the song. Why? Because it is very clear that THE SINGER DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. There is not a hint in the lyrics that alcohol is the reason. Sure, there's a lot of room for interpretation. Why is "everybody's screaming". Are they dying too? Is it a mass disaster, a bus or plane or 9/11? Possibly. We don't know. It has been said that dying is the one thing you do alone. I think this song's about that. |

| Simple Plan – One By One Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I'm pretty clear that this song is about not losing your childhood dreams (the part about "and they used to say that someday you'll forget it, you won't hear them": Not hearing things you used to is growing up and losing your dreams), and taking the opportunity (apparently once missed) to go and realize those dreams. In SP's case, it is probably about having a musical career rather than a humdrum existence, against the wishes of parents and other authority figures. | |
| Relient K – Sadie Hawkins Dance Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| If you notice, the kid's self confidence and willingness to stand up for himself are what get him the girl in the end. He's obviously not a part of any clique, he's just himself. And that gets him applause from the class, and eventually the girl to take him to the dance. Lesson there. | |
| Jimmy Eat World – A Praise Chorus Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think it is saying that it is never too late to get involved, and that you shouldn't let your age be the worry, just get in there. | |
