It's a beautiful song. At first I was a bit annoyed with how it sounds like it's skipping, but them I grew to love it. It's like they made several versions of it and couldn't figure which one to release, so they put them all together. |

The school bus part reminds me of the Zodiac killer. He wrote something about how he might attack a bus full of kids or something., the in "Dirty Harry", the killer actually did take over a school bus. |

"'Sister Ray' was done as a joke - no, not as a joke, but it has eight characters in it and this guy gets killed and nobody does anything. It was built around this story that I wrote about this scene of total debauchery and decay. I like to think of 'Sister Ray' as a transvestite smack dealer. The situation is a bunch of drag queens taking some sailors home with them, shooting up on smack and having this orgy when the police appear." - Lou Reed |

Love this song. There's not a lots of "meanings" posted. I think I might agree w/ revisited. I always associate this song w/ two of my other favourites: Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water, and Black Sabbath - NIB... |

I agree w/ willjdw. It also sounds as if it's about someone using the narrator of the song, acting as if they are someone they can trust, but is a backstabber... The sadism thing works too... I first heard this song when I saw "Saw". That's a strange sentence... |

I like this song a lot. I wish I could tell you what it's about. I haven't listened to this song in a long time, but I remember clearly the night I first heard it. I thought it was strange, but by the end of the song I began loving it. And now I can't find it anywhere... |

I've agreed since the first time I heard this song. I love this song by the way. Since everyone been saying the same thin, I'm just going to put my little thoughts on certain lyrics:
"My looks and smile/Have now become my curse" - Being a hooker, being good looking must be important for the job (unless the guy has a good imagination or she is Aileen Wuornos).
"Tight lips" - Tight lips... That can mean two things which I wont get into...
"The neverending street" - Must make her think that this will never end for her, just like the street. She'll keep walking it for the rest of her life.
"Big car, little man/My lover for a fee" - The guy could be some rich dude w/ a nice car, but really inside he's just a stupid dirty little man.
"Oh well I catch the twinkle inside you're eye" - A horny twinkle maybe?
"Cold sores" - Could be be from standing in the cold rain, or some cryptic word for some STI?
