I'm pretty sure "Let me put my face in the hot sand" is actually "Let me put my faith in the whole design"... Just wanted to make a note of that... As far as the song goes, it's awesome... It's about moving on and going your own way... Reminds me of Rusted Root - Send Me On My Way... |

In response to the "If you ever want to find me, I can still be found..." lyrics:
I'm pretty sure it means that after all this time and all of these experiences they are still taking the long way around.
The long way is a metaphor for doing things their own way. No really going with the flow or agreeing with the popular opinion. I personally can really appreciate this song... |

This video reminds me of Papa Roach - Scars. The girl that they show at the beginning of the video is at an AA meeting. My personal take on the video is that the relationship fell apart because of alcohol. You see this girl stumbling around with a drink in her hand. That would be a valid reason for a breakup. If you have ever dated someone that likes to drink and gets sloppy, you know its know fun (been there dont that). |

Another great KT song about change. I loved "Through the dark" on Eye to the Telescope. If anyone here hasnt heard it yet, you really need to listen to it. Its a slower song but has wonderful lyrics. I think Hold On has a very Carpe Diem theme. That you need to enjoy, love, and take advantage of each and everyday because sooner or later things will change. I know I can really relate to this song being a college junior my life is changing rapidly. I almost feel like I was put in someone elses life. |

I cant believe there isnt a real comment about this song and the content! Im not sure if she is talking about a boyfriend/lover or if the song isabout her, but anyway I think its about not learning. It doesnt matter if she gets hurt or not, she returns and dreams and acts. Shes "hopeless" because she never learns the lesson. I think everyone can relate to that. |

I was listening to this song a little bit ago and I have a different view on this song... I think its about Stardom. She doesnt know if she can make it or not (What if I fall? What if I dont?). Its the what ifs, we all have them. She doesnt know if she should go out and follow her dreams or if she should just stay put. She sitting on a citadel, meaning that she is on display for everyone to see. The 2nd verse is about her love life and what this new popularity can do to it... WHat do you guys think? |

I really dont think this is about suicide... Heres the reason... A citadel is by definition: any strongly fortified place; stronghold.
This means that she is safe right where she is. That if she stays put, she can hold onto this saftey. She is comtemplating because she doesnt know if she should take a risk and change everything or if she should stay where its safe. She both doubts and believes in the decision/herself (What if I fall, What if I dont? etc..) In the end she finds that there is something thats keeping her from changing everything... But the "What if..." will always remain for her... |

| Nelly Furtado – Promiscuous (featuring Timbaland) Lyrics

For whatever reason, when I was listening to this song a few minutes ago I was slightly enlightened. It sounds like to me that this guy and girl are in a club dancing (Duh). It isnt about if they are going to have sex tonight, its more about a relationship I think. They have these sexual images, but they are façades. They are going back and forth, almost trying to out do each other. "I can see you with me t shirt on" well... "I can see you with nothing on". Kind of back and forth. Who is better? By the end of the song they see that they are perfect for each other. "Promiscuous Boy, We're one and the same so we dont gotta play games no more". I just listened to it again as I was typing this. At the very end of the song, after "Is your game MVP like Steve Nash?" Those next four stanzas, it almost sounds like they are talking to themselves at that point. Nelly's final Chorus line makes all the difference. Before it sounded like they were going back and forth then that makes it sound like Nelly/Tim are talking to themselves or thinking it. I donno, could be way off. Just my 2 cents. |

This is one of my favorites from Loose. This album is NOTHING like I thought it was going to be. I was expecting a trashy album full of sexed up songs. Nelly hasnt lost her touch. There are a lot of great songs on here like Do It. |

For the longest time I have considered Shit On The Radio my theme song. Just a song about being your self and not letting other people effect you. Now Nelly releases this gem and now I have 2 theme songs. I can really connect with this some, maybe that why I like it so much. I feel that a lot of people I know are so scared of what people might think. I cant live that way. Great song! |

Her past 2 albums have been more humble and pop-py. This is more Urban. Its just different from how her music has been. I dont think its a bad thing, I like all her singles. I just don't think its her. |

There is nothing wrong with the sexual/shallow theme, its just not Nelly's style. She has always been a breath of fresh air in the music industry. This just kinda meshes her in with all the other pop music. |

Like I said before, this song has NOTHING to do with relationships. I thought, at one point, that it did. Then I realized its about Nelly going from underground to mainstream pop. She is just being herself and making herself happy. |

It isnt about the clutter in our lives. It is about this stalker that sent those monkey postcards to the different band members. |

I became a member of this site JUST to comment on Nelly Furtados songs. This song has NOTHING to do with relationships (However at one point I did). Its all about her going mainsteam and her not being accepted for it. On the Shit comment, I think she also chose the word shit because if you dont like someone's work you could call it shit (as in a bad thing). Nelly then turns around to mock the comment. EXCELLENT SONG!! |
