well i must say this is not one of their best songs. I absolutely LOVE YC but this song is definitly not as good as their older stuff. Though it does work really well live (i went and saw them last night :P, twas great!). yea, i think its about 'fakeness' and how behind all the lights and sounds which are in your face, there is so much more. which i suppose is true to life, though this song doesnt do much for me. tis a very catchy tune tho! |

Such an emotional song and its wonderful n also I like the ‘ill run away with u’ that sorta thing gets me in any song, damn it. hehe. I sorta left it on repeat n everytime I heard it I got something new from it. i more or less agree with what many ppl are saying the song is about and i think personal meanings make this song stronger, like someone who said it was their boyfriend and their song. so ya. although, my ex boyfriend told me to listen to it about a fortnight after we'd broken up n then wanted to know what i thought, hmmmm...he's up to something. lol. |

self bias resisitor- lol. I do agree, its important to have different opinions otherwise I suppose this site wudnt exist. But yea, back to the point. I don’t see how music is only ‘good’ if the artist suffers from depression…you used Trent Reznor as ur example but then u mentioned he was an alcohol and cocaine addict- of course he was depressed! Drugs make u more depressed than u are and in my opinion its just disgusting that ppl claim to be ‘depressed’ when they’re self inflicting it on themselves! Eurgh. But then that’s my opinion and I cud be here for hours going on about it. Back to TBS- we cud go on about this forever and not reach an understanding (difference of opinion) but I just wanna say, what is meaningful to one person may not be meaningful to another. There are times when a song can remind you of an event or a person etc. and so this adds a personal meaning to the song. I agree that many lyrics by your so called ‘emo’ bands are rehashed and generic, but then aren’t most things? I cudnt say that I listen to some of ur kinda stuff (tho I’m considering checking out some of these bands :P) but music is based on life, right? And therefore, as humans we all live our life and although everyone’s experience of life is different they are based on more or less the same events, emotions, obstacles etc. oh and coincidently happy birthday :) |

self bias resistor, firstly, how do you know if any of the members of taking back sunday suffered from angst or misery? did you read the biograpghy of each member or speak to them in person? even if they didnt suffer from these things they may have been affected by someone who did and may have been closely linked with this person, this does not make the music 'meaningless and hollow'. also, u cant just assume that all people are the same, this 'fad' may die out and yes, there may be some who will 'latch themselves onto the next musical fad' but there are also some of us who liked these bands before the fad came along and will continue to like these bands when the fad passes. i'm not trying to be a pain in the the ass, but i think what we have is just a difference in opinion :) |

self bias resistor, i agree that emo is a fad and now all of a sudden everyone's emo (its becoming the new chav!!) but i dont think its right for you to criticize TBS as it is the 'emo' fans who like TBS not TBS encouraging 'emoness'. does that make sense? i suppose what i'm trying to say is that you dont HAVE to be 'emo' to like TBS. they make good music (at least i think they do) and this song is by far a great acoustic song. |

this song means a lot to me as it was the first song my boyfriend (exboyfriend now) gave to me. I hadn't heard of kashmir before then and now everytime i hear it this song gets me all emotional :( reminds me of my ex boyfriend and the way he always looked/looks out for me and tells me not to worry. *sighs* so ya, this song mean a lot. |

i more or less am in the same position as rachybaby only me and my boyfriend broke up a month ago :( yea, still not over him and we've agreed to stay as best friends, as the relationship ended because it was becoming too hard to see each other, yet we still love each other very much. this song has a sad feeling to it, and in the video although gwen says 'i know we're cool' in her eyes you can tell that she's not and she's just putting on a front to make her ex feel happy. so ya. this is my first post btw, i'm new here! |
