I think missnead is a little off, in my opinion .It's about a guy and a girl who meet, and hit it off really well, but they both have a boyfriend/girlfriend. She knows somethin's gonna happen between them anyways, she can't control the growing feelings of lust and love in her heart. She doesn't know where it's going, but she really wants him even if the situation is a little fucked up. |

In my opinion, the song is about being in a rather topsy-turvy relationship which is probably where the title comes into play with the rollercoasters and rides. He's so used to the ups and downs in the relationship, but always tries to go back up again. (we slide from top to bottom and we turn and climb up again.) a never ending cycle.
So in this cycle, he automatically expects shit to go wrong. like her cheating on him. (i am waiting for something to go wrong, i am waiting for another repeat.)
he wants her to leave, but can't help but still hold on. ( i am waiting for you to flee the scene
as if you held in your hand the smoking gun
and on the floor lay the one you said you loved)
so basically break ups and make ups over and over again. man, i love this song. i'm in that situation, and have been for like almost three years with the same person. |

eucil, I know what you mean. The songs feel... weird, I guess. Throughout all the previous albums, you could feel a sort of connection. With Plans, it's a little different. The songs are still good though |

This is like my favourite Death Cab song, the music is so good, the piano fits in so perfectly and the lyrics match so well. and they make so much sense. The words I love you are used so much these days, it's almost depressing. |

It was so weird, the song started playing and I didn't really realize it was Stability until I started singing along unconsiously. Then I went, "Whoa, awesome love this song". |
