I haven't talked in days and I'm really not too sure what I sound like anymore.
I love this line in the song. I'm still getting used to being in college away from home. None of my friends from high school are with me and I just started making some friends here. There are days when I keep to myself and don't feel like talking to anybody and I realize I haven't talked in the whole day! That reminds me of this song. As to the meaning of the song, I think it's just about someone feeling trapped within themselves and wanting to get out of the barricade they've created around themselves. And there do seem to be some direct references to cutting oneself just because of how desperately lonely they feel. |

No comments! Okay, well to me this song is about how many leaders of countries declare war and they force their people to fight for them.
This is the line I've drawn.
This is your last chance.
Now you must bleed dry for me.
I think it also talks about how many people, not just leaders, contradict themselves. They say they do not agree with something or they believe it to be immoral, but then they do those things themselves.
We have lost ourselves to self-contradiction.
We have lost ourselves to our own lies.
I might just be stating the obvious here, but then again, someone can interpret this song differently. There are more parts to the song that I haven't analyzed completely but I believe those few lines sum up the basic meaning of the song. Now that I've given my input on what I think this song is about, I will say that this is one of my favorite songs off the album. Everything about it is awesome. |

OH MY GOD DUDE! this song is so me. my girlfriend has a lot of guy friends and her best friend is a guy. while most girls have a girl as a best friend, she has a guy for a best friend. it sucks dudes. it's not that i don't trust her, just that she trust someone else and cares about someone else just as much as she does for me. it's hard sometimes. well yeah, i first heard this song on warped 2004 compilation. the music's not my favorite but some of those lyrics are pretty accurate. |

Que? Only 3 comments. Well, I guess all the other kids havent heard Avenged's old stuff. Well, to me this song is about a friend who is hurting him or herself and is extremely depressed. Shadows is trying to do something to help the person and have him or her be the person he/she used to be. He thinks that together they can fight through the problem. Badass song though. One of my favorites on Sounding the 7th. And for all you critics, City of Evil doensn't suck, it's just REALLY different. A7X still owns. peace out. |

Only one comment!? Only one!? Oh well. I love this song. Even though it is not as popular as there other songs I love it so much. The entire song is just perfect. Having Tim Lambesis growl "frail words collapse" is so cool. Plus, the guitar solo in the middle kicks ass. I love the meaning of this song. To me, this song means two things. Trying to help someone but not being able to get through to them since you're only "whispering emptiness". Also, the last two lines pretty much sum up what he is saying. |

Good song. Really cool song. I like the little guitar "solo" close to the end. FFTL rocksors my boxors. I saw them at the Warped Tour. Sonny is so gross. He was licking his microphone and pretending to fap while singing the hidden track. They're cool anyway. |

Mo money's interpretation makes sense but a lot of the words of the song make it seem like he's talking about a relatinship he had with a girl and how it has ended. I might have to listen to it just to make sure. Anyway, the extremely high note around the 6 minute mark is extremely badass. Thanks Mr. Gates. |
