so today we did a dance to this song at a dance industrial and the guy explained it to us as being about this break up and how she's all down n stuff and yet, there's hope b/c "love rules all, conquers all" and so although it's a depressing song, there's hope in it.
ps. the dance we learned to it was just fantastic. and for all you non-dancers, half the battle of making a dance good is being able to to feel the song and take the singers emotion and make it your own and feel what he/she is feeling. plus it helps if you love the song. and b/c of this industrial, me n my friends are now offically obsessed with this song. =] LOVE IT. |

oh my god, i'd love to have my brother know madina lake. i think i would die. they're freakin' amazing.
but i think this song is pretty much about how him and adalia met when she was going through a tough time in her life, and he just fell in love with her b/c he finally met someone going through the same stuff. and he just wants to show her the world and how it's not all bad before she goes away forever, and he's going to try to show her this until he can't anymore.
it's rather cute that he's willing to put so much into her, ya know?

i agree with all of you guys. i remember that one country song that was "live like you were dying" and it just reminds me of that... although Madina Lake can rock it out better than any country song. I think it's pretty much saying that you can't keep putting things off until tomorrow or else you'll never do them and regret it later that you didn't. motivational and amazing. not to mention that the whole madina lake concept is awesome. |

you know, sometimes the best part of a song is the meaning that it has to you personally. i think that's why i love this song so much. i choreographed a dance to it, and performed it at a talent show that my youth group went on this past weekend. and during part of it, i saw this kid who i had just met for the first time, and we "collide[d]" and i am quiet at first, but he had such an amazing first impression on me, and it was right at that part of the song that i saw him and realized all of this... all while on stage. and from that point on, this song has held a personal meaning for me. howie day most likely had a different meaning intended for it, but it's effected me personally. and i think that's what makes this song so amazing. is that i can connect with it on a personal level that's true to myself and who i am. |

This probably was said, but just not in these words, so i'll just say it myself. I think the point of this song is to say that his whole life, he was living a lie, and being someone else then who he really was. And he's just now starting to see that he can be who he is without your approval... like the last 2 lines of the first verse. And all of the chains and pains that he had from this lie are now going away, because he doesn't have to worry about living the lie anymore. And he asks if you can see them falling just to rub it in your face that he's finally making his own choices and decisions. And when it says everyone is looking and everyone is laughing but they all feel the same inside, he's going off of other people. He's not alone, and everyone who has ever been someone else then who they are just wants to feel okay. They strive so hard to fit in, because that's what everyone wants. No one wants to be the outsider. But he's saying to heck with it, i'm not going to live like that any more. And so finally, he can get the weight of the world off of his shoulders and finally be set free. |
