| Oceansize – Legal Teens Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i think the last part is: "But if we'd have started years ago Would we still be here today? As we toss the coin, it falls Curse the lies But we never took the picture And if all this gets any more And time starts standing still Then I'll wave the wand of innocence While you repeat And blow us to hell...all to hell" |

well done with this...sounds pretty accurate. to me it kinda sounds like a song about losing your virginity with your childhood sweetheart. very beautiful regardless. |

| Failure – Magnified Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i think its making comparisons between the cruelty of children towards insect in the name of boredom, with the cruelty of god towards mankind in the name of his "perfect creation". much deeper than first glances may suggest. in my opinion... |

| Kyuss – Apothecaries' Weight Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| its about getting high and jamming until you stumble upon a monsterous riff to end the song. | |
| Kyuss – Writhe Lyrics | 17 years ago |

|
| Rob Crow – Taste Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think its about him being involved with a girl and the relationship never taking off, perhaps a one night stand? Hence, he only has a 'taste' of her, which he's trying not to forget how good it was (Never try to lose that taste forever) ROB RULES! | |
| The Locust – Live From The Russian Compound Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| the cowboy lawman is USA. its about how the powerful people in america are causing the downfall of the world, inculding their own citizens. | |
| The Locust – Solar Panel Asses Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| no meaning, just poetry. loadsa emotion though....fuckin evil. | |
| Queens of the Stone Age – You Can't Quit Me Baby Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think its about a guy whos madly in love with a girl. Imagine high school age. Shes one of the popular kids and hes not. He loves her so much he gets depressed and cuts himself. I think the "solid gold" reference is saying she is emotionally hard and as unbreakable as solid gold. He'll never be able to break through to her and get her to love him, so he thinks fuck it, and begins to hate her instead of loving her (see you in hell). I dont think he kills himself himself or her. i could be wrong tho. |

| The Locust – One Manometer Away From Mutually Assured Relocation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| MAYBE...its about how science is trying to obliterate spiritual perspective? Maybe its about how scientific understanding can enrich our spiritual side? Maybe its about evolution, and that its time for us as a race to develop our conscious beyond that of our current scientific understanding? Maybe its about how science has tried to explain spiritual things from a logical viewpoint and is masking the true meaning? I definately think its about the science vs spirituality conflict. And i definately know it my fave Locust song and these musicians are truely exeptional. | |
| SikTh – Bland Street Bloom Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Judging from the video i'd say it was about the state of our society at the moment where individuality and creative flare is frowned upon because the media has told us it isn't "normal". How everyone is so conditioned into this blandness that prohibits us from doing what we want and how we're all trying to be the people we are told we're suppossed to be. Sikth is the middle finger to all that bollocks. Long may they reign.... | |
| Radiohead – Pyramid Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Thom Yorke is the most beautiful person in the world for writing this song. I dont care what its about. The fragility of his voice has encompassed so much more than the meaning of the words. Its a genuine example of the beautiful potential of humanity and the delicate nature of our existance. Everything about this song wrenches my heart strings. Including the video, which gives the song a more distinctive direction. I find it humbling that so many people have so many different interpretations of this song. If i could ever compose anything even half as emotionally strong as this, then i'll be a happy man. To me this is a song about life. The great flow of nature that we will all return to the earth from which we came once the waters of time have carried us as far as we need to go.I want this played at my funeral. It so full of hope, love, and beauty. With nothing to fear and nothing to doubt...peace x | |
| Idiot Pilot – The Violent Tango Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Superb interpretation above. Very impressive, this is a very enigmatic song.... | |
| Oceansize – No Tomorrow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think its about trends/fads/fashion etc About how people follow trends in a certain respect and claim its because its "who they are" when really they're just doing it to fit in. "Find a face, put it on, pretend theres no tomorrow" This is Mikes sarcastic comment, he's saying yeah follow the trends, and pretend that the trends of tomorrow will never come. Cus when they do, and you spend your life trying to fit in all the time, the lights that guide you will burn and blind you. Fantastic dischordant riff at the end. Just Oceansizes way of saying "we're always gonna do OUR thing" i guess. Pure excellence. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Beside You in Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song captures the emotions of lonliness, sadness, misery and grief, but at the same time euphoria, peace, content and hope. To me, this song is about the agony of unreturned love, loving somebody you know you cannot have. Beside you in time is his way of saying he IS with the person he loves, but only in time, no in reality. It's a truely heart-wrenching song, very rarely a song captures an emotion so accurately and fully. Thank you Trent for the inspiration and the knowledge I am not alone in this world... |

| Sunna – I Miss Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i see it as a man whos in love with someone he cant have, but he cant walk away so shes "holding him down". cus he cant tell her, he stops hiself and represses his feelings. i ignore the two verses because for me they dont tie in with the rest of the song. this song is the defitiion of beautiful. sunna were a great band... | |
| Tool – Disposition Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think as a prelude to reflection, this song had alot of relevance to it. I think its about someone who is going through a life-changing period in their life and is questioning the purpose of their existance. I see the lyrics "Mention it to me, mention something, mention anything" as a plea to someone to give his life some context. I think "watch the weather change" is a metaphor for his changing outlook on life. Very dark song. Very beautiful. |

| Team Sleep – Natalie Portman Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
for me, this song explains the feeling of being in love with someone you know you can never have. he wants, more than anything in the world, to be with this girl, but he knows it can never happen, and the pain of that thought is killing him, so he walks away from her. im in the exact same position...i can empathise with him so much in the song. amazing track. |

| Zero 7 – Destiny Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| These lyrics describe perfectly how i feel at the moment, but for different reasons than have been suggested. I think the woman singing is in love with a guy who is already seeing someone, and she is describing the agony of how it feels to be so in love with someone that it cripples you to think you'll never be with them. in my own personal case, i feel like this with one of my very close friends who is already seeing someone, however, i do think there is more between us than just friendship, and i do think that one day, if destiny has decided it to be, then we will be together. sorry to get all personal and soppy on yer ass, but this song speaks more about how i feel at the moment than i could possibly tell you. | |
| Machine Head – Elegy Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| amazing song....obviously about how humans are destroying the planet, ''her'' being a reference to ''mother nature''. some very powerful lines in this song. love it. | |
| Oceansize – Paper Champion Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
the last section goes like this, i think.... toothy grins and lamp and shades a prank to go, your soul will seek now we're done cheering your name (im sorry now) we're done cheering your name (im sorry now) we're done cheering your name (im sorry now) this is such an amazing song, so emotional. to me personally, its about two guys who are in love with the same girl. it looks like one of them is going to get the girl and the other isnt - hence ''paper champion''. i think the middle section describes in the most beautiful way the utter agony our ''paper hero'' feels not being able to see her or speak to her (severed tongues and glowing eyes) and the pain he feels at being ''rendered obsolete''. in the end he decides to let fate take its course and whatever happens, happens (let blood run like a waterfall.) im probably way off the mark, but thats what this song means to me because its exactly the situaution im in at the moment. one of my favourite songs of all time, from one of the most innovative and original bands to come out for a long time. |
