Sounds like a frigid anal control freakish type A personality, you know the type who bottles up all emotion and wears a mask 24/7. Well one day something/someone/an event was far out of her control and she snapped. And after said event, even the slightest empathy shown to her by someone else causes her to break down all over again. |

| Pain of Salvation – Sleeping Under the Stars Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
After a few listens.. it seems Daniel is talking about a groupie. And 'sleeping under the stars' is an euphemism for being intimate with performing musicians (wait darling wait for sound of electric guitars..) Seems like said groupie and musician(s) are getting it on in the band's limo/car and nasty bar restrooms. Perhaps the musician's treatment of the groupie wasn't all that nice (Don't worry about emotional scars...) It's also possible that the groupie is willing to put up with any type of treatment resulting in 'emotional scars' as long as they can be able to say 'omg, I totally slept with the lead singer/guitarist/drummer/bassist of ________' |

| This has always sounded like some sort of disease metastasizing (AIDS, Cancer, ect..) or some type of parasite festering inside of a dying patient | |

(I'm gone) We're buried underground (I'm gone) That's where these hearts are found Devil spins this world around (I'm gone) Only love can save us now Do you wanna go underground? (I'm gone) Lay buried underground (Don't you wanna?) Did you really change your mind? (Ain?t you gonna?) Was this fire way too bright? (Don't you wanna?) Could this be your only crime? (Ain't you gonna?) Did you really change your mind? |

| Pink – Sober Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I know this song is about Pink's divorce and alcoholism. But the lyrics can be interpreted in so many different ways. I take these totally out of context, don't have a fit. The line "I don't wanna be the girl that laughs the loudest" is special to me. I've always noticed the seemingly outgoing happy girls laugh the loudest. By doing this, they try to convince those around them that everything is alright. But these girls that tend laugh the loudest almost ALWAYS have inner demons. It's like the laugh is almost forced, this girl is wearing a mask. Now, I don't listen to Pink often, but I hear she went through a divorce. This is obviously reflecting off of her lyrics. She's masking the pain and memories of her previous marriage by outwardly seeming "Okay", thus trying too hard to be "happy". The second line .."Or the girl that never wants to be alone" it's cause that same girl with the inner demons needs someone/something to distract her from being alone and forced to think about the shit that is eating her up inside. I can see even the first few lines being really meaningful to alot of girls that have experienced any kind of abuse. "Crying scares me cause it screams the truth" the same girl with the bottled up inner demons. She doesn't want to face them. She wants to wear that mask, pretending everything is okay. Crying scares her cause it rips that happy mask right off. |
