Well, I'm afraid this one is quite obvious to me. The album is mostly about the band. This is Gilmour's take on the whole breakup. The Division Bell : Two opposing faces - Waters and Gilmour. "Do they still meet there by the cut?" The Final Cut, the "divorce" of Waters and Gilmour. Check out some of the other lyrics from the album. "Who could have seen it would have worked out so badly for you and so well for me?" The grass was greener, but for which one of them? In one lyric he even says how he held out his hand and "you politely told me to go f*ck myself". Check out the interviews on the floyd site under Comfortabley numb. Waters and Gilmour talk honestly about the breakup. Look it's not about fans being Gilmour or Waters fans. We're Floyd fans and NO waters solo stuff is NOT cr*p. They are both talking in their music to each other. Water's lyrics, like "nice Ferrari car, thanks but I'll wait for the f50", obviously aimed at Nick Mason. Finally, "we've got to keep talking". Hence the amazing reunion at Live8 |
