I'm betting I'm in a minority, but I've always thought that this song is about a guy who's in love with another guy. He's in his teens, and hasn't experienced that much yet, he's a bit naïve. ------I never knew I never knew that everything was falling through------ He told the guy, about how he felt, and it wasn't recieved very well. | Well, anyone who isn't deaf or blind can see that she's probably singing about the angel Gabriel... but that doesn't mean it has a christian message, it could be about the 'idea' of Gabriel. Well, i know this really isn't what the writer meant with the song, but the question *is* what it means to me, so yeah :P The song is so very clearly "Brokeback mountain" The first part is Ennis, then it's Jack and then it's the both of them. It's so obvious and they couldn't have done a song better to suit them even if they did try. Yeah, and I so have to watch the movie a 4th time... |

I've always thought this song' about dying, maybe even suicide. The first part is about being different and alone. The second part tells about how fragile life is. The final is about the longing to finaly find the release, the way out. The person in the 'white wave' is probably someone the singer loved and lost. |
