I think this song is metaphoric, just like most of you other people think so aswell. But i think the way the song talks about what each kid is doing, describes what kind of person they are, Veronica could be a romantic passionate person, Vada could just be still a little girl, and Dade is the sort of person who doesn't do anything with his life, he tries tries to understand too much. The part where it talks about the fact that they never lived past the age of fifteen, could be that they never lived their childhood past the age of 15 because they had to care for themselves, they were being neglected. Where it says she didn't even notice as the tide came in and swept her three into the ocean, i think that means she was totally oblivious to the fact that they were growing up too quickly, and the tide could represent the different reasons why each child got swept into the ocean. I think the ocean represents the Big Wide World. Thanks... |

| When i first heard this song i thought it was about some exotic girl maybe a prostitute who specialised in bondage, because of the ship and tied to the mast thingy. but now come to think of it, if its in a movie about heroin, it must be about heroin lol :P | |
