Jason Mraz – Not So Usual Lyrics

OMG onl ONE person has commented on this song?! are you kidding me?! Wow. Well the way i see this song, is that i want to BE this girl. I imagine her with long dark hair and mesmerising eyes. And he is totally intrigued by this girl. She knows him- She's always kissing me goodnight when i just need to be alone, she so sweet, so discreet. And my favorite part:
She never sipping on the wine and hardly sucking on the lime and despite of her bi polar rollercoastering, i think i can trust she'll keep me singing differently.
Wow. |

Jason Mraz – The Boy's Gone Lyrics

hmm...Hungry Hipp...i think that you're partially right. i do think that this song is about spirituality, not religion. It's about being a good person. I think the view point is: if you do good things and you are yourself- whatever our eternity is destined to be (he even says in the song- nobody knows, and no one can tell.) things will work out for you. If you ever listen to the song halfway home, i do think that it is about God. But most of his songs are about love and his relationships with people in general. |

the imagery of this song is great. All of us are familiar with that awkward break up moment. in my mind, i see them standing outside her house with his hands in his pockets with and unbearable awkward silence. it hurts me to hear this song sometimes! it's all too familiar. lol |

Oh wow. this is such a deep song. I'm not very religous at all but i believe that there are some religous undertones to this song. I think it was a time in his life where he lost his relationship with God. He felt alone and homeless with no one to turn to. I dont think it is about literally being homeless.
I used to walk all along
The opposite side of the road
And made others get out of my way
I used to think that i could just sit and wait for the times
but they wont come till i meet them halfway
He's talking about a time in his life when he was bitter and probably treated people badly. He came from the wrong side of the tracks and was waiting for god to find him. He needs to meet him halfway.
I plan to get there around supper time
They're serving up bread and wine
All i needed was a sign
Obviously, the bread and wine is symbollic of The Last Supper. He needed a sign from god to come home to him |

Jason Mraz – Absolutely Zero Lyrics

You guys have it ALL wrong!! It's about two childhood friends. The type of childhood friend that is the opposite sex, but are so close to. But the complications of love and lust have not yet developed. Their friendship is simple. They'd spend the night at eachother's houses and it wasn't a big deal. They grow up and fall in love with eachother over the years. But somewhere, things began to get complicated as they grew up and they lost touch without even realizing it....I'm too hard at work, have you ever heard of anything so absurd? He's saying that it's not an excuse to lose something so precious over something so ridiculous. Now, their friendship is nothing...they let it slip away. It's worth absolutely zero. |

Simple love. It's the type of love that is so easy to understand. All you have to do is look at the person, and everything disappears. You lose everything, including your mind. Erasing memory well i feel as though i'd never seen a face before until i saw your eyes...explains it all |

Such a capturing song. It's so ambiguous...i must have heard this song a thousand times and each time i think of a new scenario. I think it's just about growing up though. Memories are always more vivid in hindsight. I think he's looking back on his childhood, his sister (as earlier suggested), his friends, and his first loves. one of the most simple but touching lyrics is: Down that long missouri highway, your hair was longer then. I dont know why, but that really strikes me. It's looking back on a memory of someone. Beautiful. You left your thumbprint inside me now for months it seems, but mine only brushes your soft surface and somehow...leaves me listless. Someone didn't return his affections. I think this is about a girl that was so exotic and foreign to him and he was just enraptured in her. Why dont you tell me about the sunsets in sweden and the laws of eden and how you were the rock of gibralter. This girl is experienced and wise and he is intrigued by her. |

Oh, so beautiful. My first thought when hearing this song made me think of my ex-boyfriend (as many people i'm sure.) He left for the air force and we're still in love. I always dream of the day..years from now when we'll run into eachother. The best part of this song is the beginning: You look the same. I mean you look different but you haven't changed. This may be the same dreamgirl he was talking about in the first song. Again, he's completely mesmerised by this girl- she steals him away everytime he looks at her. |

Quite possibly my favorite song ever. I see it from so many different perspectives. This girl he is talking about is someone he is so comfortable with. She's apart of him. They have a routine. They're best friends. But at the same time, he's completely mesmerized by this woman. She never becomes dull to him and he is so captured by her. She's a realistic fantasy. He has her. I got that from the part: Well i was feeling like a creep as i watched you asleep face down in the grass, in the park in the middle of a hot afternoon. Your top was untied and i thought: How nice. It would be to follow the sweat down your spine. He still fantasizes about her even though she's already his. Lyrically simple yet deep. |

Dave Matthews Band – American Baby Lyrics

This is one of those songs that just grows on you. The opening is amazing. It definately makes me think of September 11th- but at the same time I think not because of the lyrics: If these walls came crumbling down, and fell so hard to make us lose our faith--- as americans- we DIDNT lose our faith! we got stronger. so that makes me wonder if i actually know what this song is about. I also look at it from two perspectives....the soldiers telling their family and friends to stay beautiful and stay american while they are gone...or the families of these soldiers literally telling them to stay. Stay, beautiful baby. Hmm Please tell me what you think! |

Dave Matthews Band – American Baby Intro Lyrics

This intro is so amazing. It gives me a chill everytime. But I have a question...At the end where it says: And she said a hundred times...she said a thousand times... What do you think that means? For some reason, I picture it being about the wives and girlfriends of the soldiers going off to war...asking them a thousand times not to go. Just a thought...but please tell me what you think! |
