The lyrics are wrong. He doesn't say "And sharper". Wherever you got that from, I have no idea.... And it's not "we've fallen in love" it's just "We fall in love" said twice. Bert IS a lyrical genius. This song is NOT ABOUT CUTTING OR LOVE. Bert said himself that its about how everything gets to him, and how when he finally falls down, he feels better afterwards and feels like he can take it all on. |

It's more relationship then drugs. If it was about drugs, why would he say 'you' as if directing it towards a person? Drugs are not people. And Bert, though he may be his crazy ass weird self, would probably not see drugs as people... I think it's mostly about relationships. And feeling almost, claustrophobic in it, scared, alone. This song reminds me of me and my bf. I'm pretty sure it's about a relationship o_O; My interpretation: "being faced with what I'm faced with I feel like i can't rock" He's being faced with what he truly feels inside. Most of us cover up the things we dont want to know or experience or hear. But one day, we all must face our problems. when he says: Like I cant rock. I think it means singing. Cause you know..this IS rock. So maybe it's so hard that he can't sing/perform like he use to? Maybe. Or maybe he means something else, i'm not sure. "like a rock hit my heart started to chain the day and exploded into pieces" A rock hitting your heart is like a baseball hitting a window. It breaks. I know exactly how it feels. It goes in unision with "And my heart dropped" or "You smashed my heart into pieces" etc.. Started to chain the day..Not sure what that means. And exploded into pieces... see what I said above ^ It goes with "like a rock hit my heart" "marry me stay the same lie to me and try to say you never will" EVERY relationship goes through this. Spouses will always say that they would never, ever lie to you or let you down. That's a bunch of bull. Noone is perfect. And the chorus realizes that and so does bert. "Lie to me and try to say you never will" basically means that "You will always lie to me. And you're lying to me even now when you say you never will." So true. SO true. Marry Me, Stay the same... Self explanatory. "I've got a feeling in my gut now fills me with so much hope said fuck it I'm fine dine and dashed the pianist peddled into morning" A feeling of hope. Hope makes you feel comforted, even a little. This may go with "Like a rock hit my heart".. He hoped for something, and his heart broke. When he started hoping, he said "fuck it i'm fine". So he tried to forget the bad, the truth. Which resulted in him having to face what really was going on. Pianiest peddled into morning. Not sure. o-O; I know Bert is a pianist but.... I cant make out the rest. Anyway. Beautiful song. emotional. lovely. The used is by far the best band emotionally. |

Each band will evolve, for better or for worse. You can't forget. Singing and music is about feeling. As long as you can still feel the lyrics, the band has not 'sold out'. I can relate to this song. I love it. It's beautiful. I think the song speaks for itself. And btw, it's 'my'. That's what he says anyway. If it was correctly said, it would be 'me'.. but he says 'my' on the song...So either he can't pronounce 'me' right or he just felt like saying 'my'... for some symbolic reason. When he sings "White it out like glittering wax butterflies" I cry. It's so beautiful. his voice is beautiful. I love it. I WANT TO SEE THEM LIVE SO FUCKING BAD. Jesus. Anyway, the song is about Berts drug addiction. You'll be a memory explained the song just as I would, so there's no reason to post my thoughts. As for the "White it out like glittering wax butterflies" part.... I think it means, (according to the rest of the song) "White" - Pure "It out" - Whiting it out. As in, removing it. Putting over it. Cleansing it with white, or trying to hide the stain. Like a blue dot on a white wall, painting white over it, covering it up. "Like Glittering" - Glittering. Beautiful. Shiney. Sparkling. "Wax butterflies" - Butterflies are beautiful creatures. But wax butterflies are not real. They are fake. So basically the line might mean: I'm covering up this stain of my old fake ways, though I felt like it was helping. Or something along those lines. Or, maybe he's just being weird. Either way, I love it. |

Berts voice in this song is frickng godly. It fits perfectly with the lyrics and feeling. The song is basically about ( to me ) someone trying to find who they are, but in the process their hurting other people around them. And then when someone tries to help, they get mad at them. But they stay, because they love that person, and they mean the most to them, and wether they try to push them away or not, they'll never leave. It's about choices. Descisions. Hardship. And loyalty. It reminds me a lot about me and my boyfriend. A LOT. I love this song, and I think it is one of the best songs by The Used ever. I love it, and I think its great. |

That the person is going insane with all these problems, and issues are taking over, and people just keep yelling at critiscing him, and that he can't take it anymore so he just blocks it out. WHAT A INSULT. Lol! But seriously, I think it means, that after all she/he has put him through, he just doesn't want to try anymore, and is sick of it all... wether their making love or not. Even he states: "Lights out, I cant stand to hear you scream" He can't -Stand- it. I think the lyrics speak for themselves. The thing that ties this song together is Berts INSANE laughter, which just brings EVERYTHING together in EVERY song. I admire him. He's crazy. And his laugh, it brings me to the edge. This song, was wonderfully sung by Bert. He did an excellent job, and his vocals exceeded perfection. The feeling and emotion put into simple wrods from this song were so mind-blowing, I was in tears. jraab, don't be a prick. It's not about eaitng a girl out -_- It's about how he wants whoever it is he's talking about to TALK TO HIM. Share with him. Which means he KNOWS somethings wrong, and it's been bothering him. Also using the "emo boy" kind of tone, with the "their jaded now" but adding "whatever that means" which means he doesnt really understand it, but that's how he feels in words. It could also mean: "Whatever that means to you" as in "I dont know if you care or not". Oh and the lyrics go "Share with me, Cause I need it right now, Let me see your insides /or/ write me off" etc etc.... You forgot the or ;) Which is a big impact on the chorus. It's saying that he wants her/him to share with him, or they could just pass him to the side. But he says he'd rather starve if he/she wont open up. It's carefully directed towards feeling love for the person, and wanted the best for them. And though they might not want to talk about it, he WANTS them to. Cause everyone needs a friend. And how much it hurts to know that someone he cares about doesnt want to go to him about something. I can relate to this song in many ways. It's beautiful. |

This song is especially emotional. Bert went the extra mile on this one, and it came out so beautifully. It's dedicated to Kate. I can only imagine the pain he must've felt at the time. The song, to me, basically is talking about how we do so many things wrong in a relationship..and sometimes, we end it, and later, regret it.. because we realize, it meant a lot more to us. It's all about the whole "You never know how much you love something until it's gone" term. |
