Slint – Washer Lyrics 19 years ago
I know what you mean, deadpilot. I get that with a lot of music.
I like the line 'my toes are warm', reminds me of 'cold feet' but really says that he's actually going to do himself in.
I agree with charrbin actually, It does seem like he's taking sleeping pills.
I do really love this son, but I'm not quite so sure about the guys voice. It seems a little....off..

Mother Love Bone – Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns Lyrics 19 years ago
This is a fantastic song but, "Burn your bridges" surely, not "Britches".
However, considering the context i'm sure the latter would make sense :p

Aphex Twin – Milkman Lyrics 19 years ago
Check out some of David Firth's animations on Fat-Pie.com. The guy loves Aphex Twin, he's always using them in his stuff, this song was used on an animation of the same name. Kinda fucked up, like most of the music I guess...

The first time he says 'I miss you' puts chills in me. I love this song.

Soundgarden – Pretty Noose Lyrics 19 years ago
"Take the bait, eat the fruit and kiss the snake goodnight"

The snake would be the lover, clearly. Deceptive, luring him in with sweet promises (Apple)
As said in the first comment, it looks good at the time, but turns out to be a very bad idea.
I love this song

Pearl Jam – Footsteps Lyrics 20 years ago
I read the actual meanings behind the song on another site (can't remember which) The trilogy is Alive (Act 1) Once (Act II) and Footsteps (Act II) Alive deals with Incest, his mother rapes him because he looked so much like his father, who died. 'Once' is him going crazy and killing hookers with shotguns and stuff, to kind of deal with all the shit he went through. And 'Footsteps'...well, he's been put on death row.

I totally agree with thecomaboy on this one, in that the title reminds me of 1984. It was a fantastic book, basically society was ruled by people who changed history and the news to suit the needs of the 'God', Big Brother. 'Teach us to lie and to cheat' seems to be a (albeit slightly tenous) reference to the novel.

Somehow I think that the reality TV show would be slightly more interesting if the contestants were actually vaporised. At least they wouldn't be re-integrated into the real world after the show ended.
Maybe I'd even watch it....
