| I love this song, but i'd just like to say to profskett that when he says alot of creed songs are about god, they aren't thats just how certain people interpret them, such as my sacrifice which everyone thinks is about god but i believe is about finding the youthful soul within himself again which he had to give up when he ran away from home. | |

i don't think its from the firefighters point of view. I think the term 'the rising' meens people rising up and sticking together after what happened (shown in the line 'come on up,lay your hands in mine') I also think the first verse isnt about a firefighter but about bruce himself and the rest of the americans. Like 'can's see nothing front of me' meens he can't see what's ahead and doesn't know whats going to happen and, 'Can't feel nothing coming up behind' meens he can't feel his past anymore, all his memories are shattered because of it. 'How far i've gone, how high i've climbed' meens all the troubles he's been through and 'On my back's a sixty pound stone' meens he's now having to carry all his troubles with him. |

If u have Human Clay then you mite have heard young grow old which is about when scott ran away from home and had to become a man, well i think this song is about finding that teenage part of him inside himself again. And i think thats where the cideo ties in because the old version of scott remembers himself as a younger man. |

| It's about 9/11 and how people were affected and carried on afterwards. i think the video is like becuase they obviously couldnt use a plane crash they chose an alternative and because a serial killer kills lots of people (like the people on the plane crash) its about how the serial killer is affected by the people he's killed and what he's done, just like the terrorists on the plane | |
