This song ties in well with the stalker idea, but i see it differently. Andy is a depressed/heartbroken athlete (On the match with the boys, you think you're alone/With the pain that you drain from love) and he thinks noone understands him. Brandon admires Andy and is worrid about him (In a car with a girl, promise me she's not your world) He wants Andy to stop putting himslef down (Hey shut up, Hey shut up) [note that line is being said in a friendly tone, not in a defensive one.] And wants Andy to know he's there for him (Leave your number on the locker and i'll give you a call). Basically trying to cheer andy up (coz andy your a star) and that it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks (in nobody's eyes but mine). I suppose that could also be interpreted as if he's gay, but I think the songs more about wanting to help/ be friends with Andy. Either way, its a good song, I love that fact that so many people have different intreptations. ~Sandy |
