Smother Me is right. This song IS smothering. It feels to me that The Used are trying toohard to come up with original thought-provoking lyrics such as How can I breathe, turn my insides out and Smother me Warm and alive I'm all over you would you smother me? It sounds almost creepy, and I don't find it as poetic as some of their earlier work. I thought lines such as "My head on your chest waiting to cave in," "Rather waste some time with you," and "We'll drink and dance the night away," don't "try as hard" but were still beautiful and meaningful. |

| What happened to The Used? The songs on this album have become almost juvenile, and they run sort of shallow. The second CD I thought, was different than the first, but still very good. The songs were beautiful, with chilling vocals and music, deep meanings. My 5-year-old nephew plays Bird and The Worm over and over on AOL MUSIC on demand, he is also a fan of The Academy Is... and My Chemical Romance. I am dissapointed The Used has leaned towards this kind of music style, the first two CDs had much more original sound. As I anticipated the third CD, I hoped I would enjoy it as much as the first ones, although I had doubts that they would, but this is even worse than I thought. | |

Fall Out Boy is one of the best bands ever, and this song is the BEST EVER WRITTEN IN THE WORLD... what *I* get from it is that this couple aren't really supposed to be together in the eyes of soceity, like maybe he's a bit of a fuck-up and she's the good girl type, but they truly, truly love each other, and would do anything to be together, soceity be damned... like the line, 'and if you say this makes you happy then I'm not the only one lying' "I'll be your best kept secret" because she doesn't want anyone to know about him "and your biggest mistake," because he has low self-esteem and thinks badly of himself and then there's, "so wear me like a locket around your throat, I'll weigh you down, I'll watch you choke," obviously this means she'll keep up the relationship, but it will only destroy her because he's dragging her down but she doesn't care because they love in each other so much like I said, BEST SONG EVER!!! I also love the line, "Can I lay in your bed all day?" like, they can't be together under the best situations, but neither will admit it and "drink down that gin and kerosene, and come spit on bridges with me, just to keep us warm, light a match to leave me be," he's convincing her to ignore what everyone says about him and partake in his destructive lifestyle maybe? the line, "keep quiet, nothing comes as easy as you," proves that they're, like, soulmates and meant to be together |
