I know that the first part of the song is an old jamaican song that sublime covered and the latter part is about brad's youth, but i don't know why the two were put together. i also think it seems really "train-of-thought", like the song was recorded before any lyrics were written down. I dunno, there's no need to talk about it's exact "meaning" since it's pretty obvious. by the way, willmartin43, good job deciphering the lyrics. |

I do not believe that the "house of fun" is not a going away party as "place8" so eloquently stated. Since the video for the song takes place on a beach, I imagine the word "funhouse" was split into "house of fun" for rhyming purposes. There are funhouses no beaches--you know, sort of like a house of mirrors. I'm not sure about the rest of the song and I don't intend on reading too much into it, but there's my two cents. |
