| Slayer – Seasons In The Abyss Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
After watching Hostel, I was instantly reminded of this song. Even though it doesn't fit 100% this song reminds me of the scenes were the sadist f*ckers torture and slice up their victims. I always thought this song is about a psycopatic killer torturing his victims to death, just for the kick os seeing them they, just like in the movie. Well, anyway, the main riff is one of the most ass-kicking metal riffs I know. It just makes me want to bang my head once it kicks in at 2:09 |

| Manowar – Call To Arms Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| As I stated before, I couldn't care less about how repetitive and cheesy Manowars lyrcis are. They simply kick ass and this song is the perfect example why Manowar rocks. | |
| Manowar – Warriors Of The World United Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it's hard to argue with Nasslers argumentation, so I'll go out on a limp and say that this song really f*cking rocks and I couldn't care less about how cheesy Manowar are as long as they keep making kickass songs like that one | |

| *lol* ytses comment almost made me piss myself xD | |
| 1349 – Nathicana Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Excellent song, but I can't see the meaning of the title in relation to the lyrics. "Nathicana" is a poem by H.P. Lovecraft and there seems to be only little relation between the song's lyrics and the poem. | |
| Slayer – Jihad Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Just as a sidenote: The last part of the lyrics (from Be optomistic, happy, and calm...) is taken directly out of the terrorists handbook which was found in Mohammed Attas luggage, which didn't make it in the plane in time. It was written by Al-Qaida and contains all sorts of hints for the suicide bombers. | |
| Iron Maiden – Brave New World Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Although I can say no more about the lyrics, since everything has been perfectly explained by necrox, I just wanted to add how incredible this song and how intense the lyrics are...this song sends shivers down my spine. Awesome masterpiece, just as every other song on this incredible album. | |
| Emperor – Into The Infinity Of Thoughts Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
One important thing you should consider, when talking about Black Metal and Satanism, is that Satanism does not necessarily meankilling chicken and raping virgins. Positve satanism is just a way to say that everyone should be his own master and not the follower of some self proclaimed greater authority like the church, telling the people how to live their lives. Thus satanism is a way of rejecting chsitianity which was brought upon the people (by force in many cases) 1000 years ago and reminding people of their pagan roots, as someone already pointed out. The fact that Bard Eithun killed a homosexual might not be so much connected to his "satanistic" views but more to his national socialistic tendencies which were also introduced in the scene (much to my dismay) by stupid morons like aforementioned Count Grishnak aka Varg Vikernes. Considering that the man was not only homosexual but also an immigrant (iirc), it bevomes clear that this murder had nothing to do with Satanism. Oh, and the song? I love it, the whole album is brilliant. The lyrics are great and Ihsahns screams are hauting. A masterpiece of Black Metal. |

| Kreator – Impossible Brutality Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I like the lines in the end, saying "And as your World collapses I'll watch it die in silence I wish this day would come now Await it's dawning without fear" He says "your world" not "our world" as if he is a spectator from outside. He truly wishes that this violent and corrupted world will soon meet its demise, for he is not afraid of the end of humanity. |

| Roadrunner United – Annihilation by the hands of God Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Bleed for the Devil! It's really great that Roadrunner wasn't afraid to throw in some Death Metal in this compilation! Awesome growls by Glen Benton, the Mastermind of blasphemous Death Metal! Love this song | |
| Roadrunner United – I Don't Want to Be (a Superhero) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Great song, rocks like hell, just like every song from the Matt Heafy session. | |

| The Black Dahlia Murder – Closed Casket Requiem Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Awesome song, awesome lyrics. Especially when he begins to scream with this high-pitched voice, expressing the excitement of the murderer in the moment of the killing. | |
| The Black Dahlia Murder – When The Last Grave Has Emptied Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Zombie infestation. Hell, yeah! Great song. I love the whole CD with all these Horrormovie-themed lyrics. | |
| The Black Dahlia Murder – Thy Horror Cosmic Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Completely agree with Stein, very well put. The song is most assuredly about the "Cthulu Myth" by H.P. Lovecraft. I thought exactly the same when I first read the lyrics. | |
| The Black Dahlia Murder – Contagion Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I always thougth the song to be about the movie "28 Days later", where the UK is overrun by a disease called "the Rage" which turns people into frenzied killing machines "jaws -- dripping with disease" because people bitten will become infected too "fingers for use of weaponry" - They fight with their bare hands "mind spins in fervor of murder's design" - They are completely insane only driven by the urge to kill "unleashing our buried primal desires" - Infected people behave more like wild animals, not humans "terror -- a world of terror we create maddening howls fill the streets as further spreads the plague" The streets of the citys are filled with "the infected" people, who spread the disease more and more All the other lines even more seem to point out the same thing. Everyone who has seen the movie should know what I mean. |

| Naglfar – The Brimstone Gate Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Another great song form "Diabolical" I think the lyrics are about black magic. He sings about how he hates all the people on earth, but also himself and life itself. He tried to kill himself and spent his life as an outcast of society. But in the end he tries to open a gate, so he can enter hell itself, the only place he likes to be. |

| Naglfar – 12th Rising Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
What a pity, there are so few comments about Naglfar, one of the best and most underrated Black/Death Metal bands. When you love Dissection, you will like Naglfar as well. Anway, this song is my favorite from the album Diabolical. The lead guitar is amazing and Jens' screams are haunting. Naglfar are a perfect example how Black Metal can be extremely melodic without using keyboards all the time. It's hard for me to comment on the lyrics, since they seem more like a series of images to me. It seems to be about the coming of an ancient evil. If I wouldn't know it sounds completely stupid I would say it's about a lunar eclipse. Thats because of the lines "The choir of wolves echoes, the eclipse is now complete Thousands of throats is howling to praise IT's supreme infernal glare" since Wolves tend to howl at the moon. Also the line "The paleness ITself has risen From IT's slumber to reach out in IT's full shape" made me think about it... But probably its all metaphoric... |

| Unleashed – Countess Bathory Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Although UnraisedMetal said nearly everything about the song, I just want to add that the song is a cover from UKs Venom. Its a song from Venoms second CD "Black Metal" which is said to be the grandfather of extreme metal, especially of Black Metal. The legendary band Bathory (R.I.P. Qourthon) took its name from that song and inspired by Venom formed a whole new genre of Metal. | |
| Amon Amarth – Arson Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yes, this song really is epic. I like the way the guitar builds up tension near the end of the song to explode in a beautiful lead. I can picture the lone Survivor running away to escape his enemies and after escaping he stands on a hill looking back at what was once his homeland, alone, beaten and homeless. But then he remembers his oath and he knows he will return one day to avenge the death of his family and friends. Well, at least, thats what I see in my mind, when I listen to the solo :) | |
| Iron Maiden – Paschendale Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Amazong song and another one of Harris' incredible Anti-War songs. He describes the scenery so vividly, I can almost see everything before my eyes, liike I have been there myself. War is one of Harris favorite topics and after "Afraid to shoot strangers" this song touches me deeply. It really gives me the creeps every time I listen to it. It perfectly describes what war is like...that there are no heroes, only thousands of people dying alone and far away from home. I bow to Iron Maiden and Steve Harris for this masterpiece of music! |

| Children of Bodom – Angels Don't Kill Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| As I already wrote in the comments for the song "Children of Bodom", apparently the Bodom Murders have been solved after 44 years. It seems as if the person who murdered teh 3 kids, was the their friend, who was with them in the tent. But since he also got injured pretty bad, he was never suspected... | |
| Children of Bodom – Children of Bodom Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yes, the song is of course about the murders of lake bodom, which were the inspiration for the band's name, that hails from a nearby town. Interestingly enough it seems as if these murders have now been solved after about 45 years. The person who has murdered the three kids camping at lake bodom apparently was the fourth kid who was with them. Why he was not suspected or caught before will probably remain a mystery of the finnish police. | |
| Amon Amarth – Death In Fire Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
To anyone with a little knwoledge of Norse mytholgy its evident, that this song is not only about some war, but about the final conflict between the Gods and the Giants led by the Fire Giant Surtur ("..and Surtur spreads his fire"), which will result in the end of the world, known as Ragnarök ("Ragnarök is closing in"). All the warriors who fell in battles will ride side by side with Odin to fight the last war against the Giants. The Fire Giants and the monstrous Fenriswolf will bring destruction to the whole world, setting everything on fire ("Death in Fire"). The Midgardsnake stirs up the ocean, flooding all the lands ("...And sink into the sea") The Giants will try to invade Walhal the home of the Gods but fail to cross the bridge Bifröst which collapses as they try to pass it ("The day is here when Bifrost breaks"). In the end, many of the gods and all human beings (except two) will be dead, but this also marks the beginning of a new and better world ("A new world will be born one day Where everyone is free") Btw: One of the most kick-ass Death Metal Songs of all time and my favorite Amon Amarth song |
