why has no one commented, i will try... i think this is about john not belonging in this world, he belongs somewhere else, another dimension, of spirits and life. 'its a pleasure to die, a pleasure to die, into the sky we move on' hel be happy when he moves on because he will hopefully go to the world he belongs to. 'i have no control' where he goes next he has no control over, but hel continue to find his place. 'everything goes a way i do not' in this world he thinks differently, and they dont function together, he is on a differnet level, and it doesnt go with the way he wants does. 'ive never been up where i see the others climb, seems like it must be nice' hes never found anyone who is like him, who is searching for the same world, and it must be nice for others in this world to have ppl around them who belong here. he doesnt have that so he looks forward to it. 'everyone goes where they belong, nobody goes anywhere else' everyone here seems to belong, and they are in the right place. 'never much thought goes to being right or wrong' people here accept that they are here, and dont ever really think about whether its actually their place to be or challange the idea of belonging in somewhere else. they just carry on, oblivious really. whereas he has thought about, and has realised that this is not the true place he needs to be. but hel go on and find it soon. hard to understand. again i could be completly wrong, but all these thoughts on this song have just come to me. any other views? |

i think that towards the end of the song, and of course i could be wrong, its about someone dying. someone being alone, having no one, and remebering a good time they shared with someone. and them writing, telling that person that they were thinking of them at the final stage. then its time for them to go. if i am incorrect, then give me another insight to think apon. this song is so good and i couldn't believe it wasnt posted before. |

you know the feeling you get all through your body, when you hear a song like this one, and alot of john's music, to me, where u kind of ache, shiver and tingle, because it is so good. thats what i get from this song. i also think i understand what owenparry26 is saying, that all the chanes you take in life build up to the 'big finale', when youv taken all the chnces that youv been given and then its time to use them. |

duno if this has been said but...i think that this song means that in life you have hard times and there are sometimes oppurtunities to start a fresh. in this case 'snow' represents the pure clean slate on which to restart. this doesn't mean the stuff underneath is erased and people should try to work to keep it buried and not let it interfier with future happiness. as everyone know the chilis as a band and as individulas have been through some tough shit. now they are finally all on the straight, for some time now and are still producing great music. i love them so much. these are just my thoughts, they may grow or change but its what i have at the moment. |
