Okay, well. This is abotu not worrieing about life and being happy with what you got. You don't need alot of money, 5 cars, or liveing large to be happy. I think he's stateing he's happy with just enough to get by, and the person he loves. This was the song that got my into their stuff. After i listened to this song I went out and bought the cd right away. And haven't stop listening to it. Do yourself a favor, if you already haven't, go buy yourself a copy. |

Well, lets see. This song can, indeed, mean many diffrent things. It's one of my favorts on my cd, but it's clearly hard to pick a favort song on such a amazing cd as Siren Song of teh Counter Culture. But, don't to the point, this song is about problems. Problems, and how people don't take the blame for them. That's what I think. Not 100% sure, i am 100% sure that Rise Against is one of thee most amazing bands, ever. I'm not one for punkrock but these guys know how to do things. |

As I Lay Dying is religous, and anyone who can't see that needs to think again about them knowing anything about music and should stop posting on here, because they wouldn't know what their talking about. But this song is about how God never changes and people change, but think God has deserted them. |

This song is about loveing God. Most people, I'm not saying all, but most people say they love God so much and they are close to them, but they wont give 10 seconds up to tell God they love Him, or Thank you for another day. It kind of makes me sick...No, it makes me completely sick. I could only imagin him stairing down from his kindom with a single tear that would shake the world. |

I'm agreeing with everyone that this is about someone's friend who died. It's a hard song to read without getting some kind of emoation from it. As I Lay Dying is amazing, I sow them live they kicked more ass than anyone. Alot of people where saying that Killswitch Engage is better, but I think Howard Jones sucks. |

I agree with both of them. It is about materialism. People do it all the time. Unfortantally, I do sometimes too. I think, maybe, the last line
"can we die to live another day" is him regreting about being so materialistic. |

This is a really powerful song, to me. I read alot of these comments, and some people are trying to say As I Lay Dying are not religous, but you can deffentaly see it in this song. This song is about someone wanting to love Christ as much as Christ loves him to give his life up for him. But, he wants to give more than he can. The line "but i've failed You so many times" is meaning he can't serve him as good as he wants, and failed him, or sined. "You laid down Your life when i refused to give mine" is about how christ died on the cross for US, but this person just can't. Powerful song, one of my favorts. |
