broken2pieces unfortunately i havnt seen the clip, but from what youve written i think its just a simple use of symbolism. The girl keeps washing although she's clean til she starts bleeding right? My interpretation is that shes fighting something thats non existant, that no one else can see. And despite her rationale, and in spite of herself she continues to do so until shes so far gone that she bleeds. Anorexia is the parallel for this visual stimulus, the same principle applies. ourtimeisfading. id like to write what i think but id just be echoing you... agree with most except for the '...and i dont want to be a container...', I interpret that as him not wanting to allow himself to be a vessel in which these 'monsters' manifest themselves, ie. You put things 'in' a container, hence the analogy- as opposed to being trapped.... He doesnt want really want to 'get with the program', in my opinion at least, its more about looking for something else, something more, than the, routine, mundane things in life people seem to allow theyre lives to be run by, its serves a meaningless existance, yet they leave you with a mediocre amount of happiness and a sense of self and deluded contentment...
