If you look closely at the quotes you have used for examples, they could be interpreted both ways: Love/music industry critique. I naturally heard it as a dreampop romance with the stars, with a girl, through the stars and history. But maybe that's just easier to relate to. There are some beautifully poetic lines in this song: "And the one has changed forever more, with you. It's why Ive got to know the truth. Was it you, who sang in Xanadu?" It would be sublime to be lucky enough to write something as nice as that one day. |

you are correct psychojoejoe. music is music. it is intended for the listener to interpret however they want, cause the artist couldnt really give a shit half the time. i was actually ponderring MY interpretation of the song, not trying to force it on anyone else, and the amount of different underlying meanings i could find reasonable was quite an acheivement. for me the song is somewhat about this, which means that it could very well be about all your theories, and the diversity in the human race and how we have to accept this....... gees, there i am over anaylysing myself, its all a matter of opinion. one of the possible meanings you guys havent explored yet that i picked up and threw into my brain/couldron was that they could just be sitting in there lounges laughing at you. Considering the song "Die Eier Von Satan" as i interpret was just a massive joke ripping on many misinterpretations, and "Hooker With A Penis" shows contempt to fans, i can see them using this complex theory as yet another bill hicksesque tribute to the man in question. A stab at the people who look so much into the music... another thing i picked up after reading this thread and listening to the album was in the aenima title track, he rips on l ron hubbard. "Fuck L Ron Hubbard and Fuck all his clones". And the similarites between the scientolgist geneticisms and the forty six and two theories (cause you seem to have so many different ideas), already pointed out angrily a few years ago, are disturbingly exploited here to further to the confusion that is aenima. so after all this, i can only come up with what i originally said. its music, its life, deal with it. |
