"Dick" in this song was not meant as a double-entendre. The "Tom, Dick, or Jack" thing comes from "Tom, Dick, and Harry," which is essentially just saying "anybody." For example, "We can't just let every Tom, Dick and Harry into the Hall of Presidents... no offense to you, Jefferson, Nixon and Truman." Yeah, that's stolen from Futurama. But I digress. The reason "Harry" was changed to "Jack" was to rhyme. Soooo... yeah. |
