I read in an interview that it's about page 3 models, which makes sense: "Your picture's hanging pretty on the squaddies' walls" And the chorus is him arguing with his friend about fantasizing/looking for women like these, as the singer Dave sings "36D" then Paul sings "So what? Is that all that you've got" meaning is that the only reason you have for sleeping with women like that. |

I like it :-) you can interpret songs whichever way you want to, in truth it doesn't really matter what exactly they're written about, because they were written by someone you don't know and will never meet who doesn't matter to your personal life - so I think it's up to you to find your own meaning and something you can relate to within the song. To me it's about growing up and realising your parents are actually human, lol, and seeing them in a different way: "Why do you look so familiar, I could swear that I have seen your face before" And that would make sense with the line "How do you always have an opinion And how do you always find the best way to compromise" too. But it being about God makes sense too - hadn't thought of it that way! :-) |

I think songs mean different things to different people, but to me this song describes how I felt when me and my ex broke up - wanting time to stand still so you can avoid what's coming: "and i don't wanna fall to pieces i just wanna sit and stare at you i don't wanna talk about it and i don't want a conversation i just wanna cry in front of you" In my situation we kept breaking up and getting back together and just needed a clean break so the line "You tried to say things that you can't undo" to me means trying to do exactly that - to make sure there's no going back. I definitely don't think it's about a crush, that doesn't make any sense - I'd say "Things I'll Never Say" was more about a crush. |
