"I'll be just fine Pretending I'm not I'm far from lonely And it's all that I've got" I think this one can be interpreted quite a few ways, but I don't think he's making fun of his target audience like I've seen some people say. My take is: he's implying that he's pretending to not be lonely, when in fact he IS lonely. All he has to make himself feel happier and less alone is to pretend that everything is fine, even though it isn't. |

I don't think it's about Christ or Satan. I think it's written from the point of view of an unfaithful party of a relationship. This is my interpretation: Valo, or whomever he's taking the role of, has cheated on his partner (this is shown in the lines about his heart bearing shame, and the countless mistakes). And now in the song, he's proclaiming his love for her, possibly wanting forgiveness, even though it's useless, because trust has "faded away." |
