Moneen – The East Has Stolen What the West May Want Lyrics | 17 years ago |
From Absolutepunk interview: What’s the inspiration behind “The East Has Stolen What the West May Want”? Is there a story there? Kenny: Yeah, that was one of the first songs I wrote on the album. It was inspired by a journal entry I read from someone who was separated with the Berlin Wall, whereas my story is a little different than theirs because I didn’t want to take anyone else’s own words. It all basically has to do with a couple that split up between the East and the West of the Berlin Wall. One side the living conditions were much better. So the only way for this couples to keep communication between each other were to write these letters. The woman was actually the one writing saying forget about me and there’s no hope, just go on without me, let’s forget about each other, there’s nothing we can do and move on with your life. The song is coming from his perspective and he’s saying I can’t do that and I don’t want to give up. It’s all about the struggle that people really did have by being split up by this stupid wall that made no sense. It was basically just there to ruin people’s lives. It was such a landmark of stupidity and this was the first song that I wanted to write about something different. I really dove into head first and in the end I didn’t know if it was going to work because I’ve never done anything like this before. Which it’s now one of my favorites on the album and one that I’m really excited to play acoustic. |

Brand New – Play Crack the Sky Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Jesse: yeah, i originally wrote that song for my friend Peter. He's one of the only kids who really recognizes the way we, as well as all our friends, have changed in the last couple years. It's something we used to sit up and talk about all night. But also, about the time i was writing it i had just started seeing my girlfriend. And as it turned out i remember alot of people giving her alot shit for wanting to be with me. But it was only cause they were being spiteful, and old, and envious. Cause they are just boring people. That's where the last lines in the song came from. Those are my favorite. |

Armor for Sleep – Frost and Front Steps Lyrics | 18 years ago |
interview of ben... I’m at a party or I’m at this place and someone is kind of abandoning me inside, and I have to go outside and deal with the fact that I’m being ignored, and you can take that at face value, but also I think the fact that I’m outside in the cold can be representative of feeling alone, and feeling abandoned you know, and yeah it can definitely be a metaphor. |
Armor for Sleep – Basement Ghost Singing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I found an interview of BEN. SKRATCH: Could you explain the significance behind the title "WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU'RE DEAD"? BEN: That's kind of a big question. I think the album title should encompass everything you want the CD to be. I think you can look at it a couple ways. One, [you can] take the album as a storyline-like, this story we made about a person who died and then came back and is haunting people from the past, that WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU'RE DEAD. If you want to look at the album having to nothing with the storyline, it's just an album written about what to do when you're completely numb and bored with everything [...] I kind of hope that our album will have more than one meaning, and people can take from it what they want. |
The Starting Line – Making Love To The Camera Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Something Corporate – Konstantine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"and you don't wanna be here in the future so you say the present's just a pleasant interruption to the past and you don't wanna look much closer cuz your afraid to find out all this hope you had sent into the sky by now had crashed" These lines describes exactly my actually girlfriend that has fear of something, probably to fall in love. But the entire song is incredible e probably is the most meaningful to me. 9 minutes of poesy. |
