It's a nice thought olivia777, but i'm not so sure that I'd agree with you on this. the Alkaline trio wrote their song about the Manson murders: "Sadie" aka Susan Atkins, a pretty hard core member of Charles Manson's cult; the Family. However, having said this, I don't really think HWM wrote "Russian Roulette" about this same topic... Zero was found dead and the Family members present did say that he was playing Russian Roulette (with a fully loaded gun) but I think you may have read a little bit too far into it. I think the meaning behind this song may be a little more simple: A girl ("She lives like Russian Roulette") who lives like there's no tommorrow. She has a drug problem or something ("the delicate balance Won't survive the turbulance") and it leads to her "self-destruction. It strikes when you've thought you won. And down you will go". Apart from the words "Russian Roulette" and the idea of suicide, I can't really see any more links to Zero's death. Just my thoughts. A |
