| Mr. Bungle – Golem II: The Bionic Vapour Boy Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Quoting Trey: "Golem 1 is simply 'the Golem,' the disturbing story of a superhuman clay homunculous that is brought to life Qabalisticaly in the Jewish tradition. Often this heavy tale is framed in the context of a children's story. Golem II is a Sesame Street/Muppet Movie style treatment of the the subject of Artificial Intelligence and the 'old' Golem's counterpart in the modern world - a growing mythic reality coming ever closer to the surface." | It's about John Travolta and how he's a twat. If they wrote this song about me, I'd be upset. John deserves it, though... | |

I’m surprised you guys haven’t already commented on this song… Perhaps the meaning is too obvious, but sometimes even the clear must be polished. Y’with me? The song is obviously about how euphemistic the egg is, explaining the various sexual faculties it represents; from childbirth; “Rotting from the inside Over-incubated by the heat of fear and love” ;to the duality of the act that causes it; “I can't seem to differentiate Between the yellow love you give and the white sex I take I just want to fertilize you” Why am I even bothering to comment on this song? They’re brilliant lyrics. It elucidates itself perfectly. |

| Mr. Bungle – Phlegmatics Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This is the third instalment of Trevor Dunn’s series of songs concerning sleep. The first one, ‘Slowly Growing Deaf’ and the second one, ‘Carry Stress in The Jaw’ are both linked to body parts and their various functions; ‘S.G.D’ is obviously to do with hearing, ‘C.S.I.T.J’ is about teeth (alluding heavily with an exact quotation from that poor American poet, Poe) and Phlegmatics is about nasal discharge, &c. Dunn also pleads that his insufferable insomnia could at least, if not help to achieve things in the extra time it grants him, render him “at least [a little] useful”. I don’t like this song much… Carry Stress in the Jaw is better. | |
