i think its the whole album, in one song. look at all the lyrics of each song on the new album. each song has some kind of dark meaning to it. i think this song points out to all of them. and at the end when he sings- "i've bitten my lip for the last time fog lifts up for the blind free of body free of mind i'll build my mold up, rest inside ink spills on paper paper spells my blood ink spills on paper paper spells my blood" i think he's talking about the writing process. how its so fucking hard to write, but something eventually comes to him. "fog lifts up for the blind." ink spills on paper, paper spells my blood. paper spells everything inside of him, he releases everything onto paper. get what im sayin? |

i think the song is about being trapped, not being able to move, or speak...and trying so hard to get out but not being able to. it talks about falling into a hole, being bit by a venomous spider, being poisoned.... all those things can make your body lock up and not be able to move, or cry for help. at the end it talks about being free of body, free of mind...maybe he's talking about finally dying, and being free? their new shit is based on stuff like that. but hey, i could definitely be wrong. |

hmm.... are you sure its not "might or may we be this way forever"? it would make a little bit more sense to me... but hey, maybe its right and im not catchin something... anyway, i hate coming on and talking about the band instead of the lyrics, but ill do both. First of all, Finch's first album kicked ass. So they get famous, get rich, blah blah blah. And now they can fuck around with new stuff. And thats one way bands start to evolve. I myself really like the new album. Im sure they'll be quite a few people that dont, due to their slight change. But the good thing is, that should sort out the true fans from the non-loyal. Me being in a band, i would much rather have true fans, than dollar bills. But yeah, everyone entitled to their opinion on the new shit, including me. and on the lyrics, i wish someone smart would come and figure it out. haha, from the style of writing, it sounds like Nate's been hanging around Daryl Palumbo a lot, if you know who the hell that is. But to me the song is possibly about necrophilia, or, and i know this sounds dumb. but i think it sounds like it could be about the one king, was it Henry VIII, who beheaded all those wives? "a bed of lack of passion, a medieval consequence"...but i dont know. im fucking stupid...someone figure it out. |
